It runs A LOT better on MyM launcher. Curse is a really bad launcher for some.
This crash is curse. I do not know exactly what causes it. But to fix it, you need to close out Curse completely. Then relaunch it. Alternatively...
there are "work" arounds. but yes it is mid game. Ender IO enchanter, then copy the book. Not really hard to make.
