It's a problem, but if even microsoft isn't supporting 4k res (skype for the most part doesn't do 4k), and since the launcher is open source, anyone who wants to make it work can, here's the link GitHub - MineYourMind/launcher
The main problem would be getting javaFX instead of swing, i can do it but am too lazy to, so anyone else who is a java dev, go on and fix it if you want

This is a setting on the computer side, not on the screen.

i know i have set the scaling to 0 and the res to 1080/full hd on my pc. but its not working so the only thing i can think of is that my tv is scaling stuff up to get a full image.

I believe uhd tvs do that, convert hd to uhd. It might be a setting you can disable on your tv. Not 100% sure about that tho.

True, but that shouldn't influence the font; the screen should only get raw pixels. However, you talk about setting the scale to 0 and that seems odd to me; usually scale is a factor so it should be 1 or 100% depending on the value range...

Could be done as a percentage increase/decrease, although I've never seen that on a monitor before.

you need to set it to 1080P through the graphic card setting then in graphic display setting in windows scale it to what ever size. I could be wrong and it may be vise versa I seen something like this before and had a massive issue with a weird led little tv I had. But thats the way around it and you have to tinker with it a bit.
