The Feed The Beast Team started a great hype with the launch of the departed modpack. We are following. The server is up and running, but:
    • it is whitelisted
    • community driven
    • overworld (where you join) PvE
    • other worlds PvP
Whitelist In order to get white listed the following criteria needs to be met, with either
    • 24 hour playtime on the MyM Network without rule infractions, or apply with convincing us that you are to be trusted and understand the server setup/rules
    • Explain (in your own words) what you are allowed and not allowed to do in the overworld compared to the other worlds.
    • are you up to joining us on teamspeak? (preferred)
    To apply/request, comment below.
    Final Rules regarding PvP
    • The overworld (world you spawn and build in) is 100% PvE, you are not allowed to kill other players, loot corpses or take stuff that doesn't belong to you and is not world generated.
    • All other worlds including Nether, End and all the Worlds added from mods go with the following rules:
      • killing allowed
      • looting allowed
      • raiding* allowed
      • griefing* forbidden
To sum it up, overworld is the save place, no PvP interaction at all. In all the other worlds you can kill players, loot their stuff, raid their stuff..
*Difference between Raiding and Griefing In this case raiding means to steal stuff, e.g. take items from a chest while it does not include taking machines (only its inventory contents). Griefing is breaking things, like destroying a building, terraforming the surroundings, planting huge trees next to it, pouring liquids..
    Please
    • replant everything you harvest, especially near the spawn and inside the town
    • be friendly to everyone on the server and join teamspeak when you can (no mic, no problem, listen and use the ingame chat to respond)
    • travel slowly (the world is not pre-generated loading undiscovered chunk's and worlds causes lag for others)

I would greatly appreciate the chance to jump aboard this train. I would hope you'd understand me to be a common kind player of the MYM server and have never broken any rules besides being to great of a guy. Btw Slind, I think you meant to say "Explain to us the difference between raiding and griefing. Griefing is a generaly frowned upon action in which a player targets another in the attempt to cause them grief. It's actually defined differently per gaming community however that would be the general definition behind it. Raiding could be considered griefing but raiding is the act of attacking/invading for the benefit of progression such as obtaining materials/killing for sport. Of course I'd join on Teamspeak.

    Lets get it done.
    White list please.

The differences between raiding and griefing are the following.

    1. Raiding is acquiring items by the way of theif but this does not mean by breaking a person base of placed blocks.

    2. Griefing is destroying a persons base. Breaking down doors to get access ect. While there are mods that can do this... players should not do this. That being said if someone manages to team up with a cyclops and has it do your dirty work... props.
Griefing is also playing the same person over and over.....

One difference between raiding and greifing is desired effect of impact on said player and reward for yourself. By raiding you are trying to maximize your profit while lowering there suffering, and griefing is increasing suffering while reward is seperate. Examples of this would be the difference between taking there resources for gain and the difference between taking all there tools, infrastructure so they must start from scratch

Although this is arbitrary I think it displays a basic difference between the two

Raiding is stealing a person belongings

    Up for whitelist
-I have alot of playtime on mym and i am a wery experienced player.
-With raiding you engage pvp and steal items from chests and players. With griefing you destroy what they constructed or designed and make their places messy.
-I know how to use temspeak and im ready to use it.

    White-list please?
    • Griefing is the act of ruining/destroying a persons build.
    • Raiding is the act of stealing without using destructive methods.
    • Sorry, but I'm unable to use TS as I don't have a mic to chat.
