Are you a new player and want to know this modpack a bit better, as well as have a good start? Then you are welcome!

    First ingots

Firstly, make yourself a little base. The EFab crafting grid is very important so once you have it you will meet the next challenge: making a smeltery. It takes exactly 30 minutes to craft the smeltery controller with only one gearbox, crazy right?

Welp, you don’t actually need it yet.
So, how do you smelt ores and get ingots without making a smeltery?

    By making a firewood pickaxe!
You can get firewood by pouring lava on top of wood planks inside the tinker basin and then crafting one lavawood you get from it with two blaze powder. You do not even need a full smeltery for that. Get yourself a seared tank, give it a bucket of lava, put a drain on it and a tinker basin under the drain.

Try to add fortune III upgrade and an obsidian sharpening kit to your firewood pickaxe as soon as possible to get even more resources. This is better than using a crusher or something else for early ore doubling in my opinion! You do not need to use any coal for smelting or time and power for ore crushing.

    Obtaining Cobalt mining level

    Get lucky:
Dungeon or village chests can sometimes contain obsidian. Only two of those are needed for an obsidian sharpening kit to boost your mining level to Cobalt.
Or you can just waste your three diamonds and make a diamond pickaxe, then mine obsidian the old way.

    Recommendations for Tinkers Tools

    • Electrum is a very good material since it has a shocking trait, which makes your tool a lot faster when it charged or when you mine without stopping. I recommend it for any tool except the pickaxe.

For the pickaxe try to emboss it with a firewood tool rod or binding rod to get the autosmelt trait. Remember you only want the trait so do not use the head.
    • Wood! It may sound silly, but sometimes you just want the regeneration on your tools.
    • Upgrades - try to use redstone for anything for speed and lapis for luck. You will especially need them in early game.

    Last tips

    • The sink from Cooking With Blockheads is an infinite water source.
    • Canola power is a good early game power source.
    • You can automate the empowerer with 5 conveyor belts facing the display stands and the empowerer and put a hopper below the empowerer. The same goes for the metal former.
    • Use garden cloche for growing stuff because they only need water and RF. It is that simple!
    • EFab crafting grid is a multiblock so it doesn’t matter where you put blocks like the tanks for crafting recipes as long as they are connected.

Don’t be shy asking for stuff, there are great people around who can help you. Similarly, help others in need.
