I think there is nothing that affects your quests *alot*

 

The spawn villager egg is a quest item, and giving metals will allow skipping quests, I think.

 

With metals you dont skip any quest.(i think)

 

Anything would bu OP or useless after first day, in regrowth. Since Myms are useless for anything but claims, just give 160 claim blocks, bypass the myms, or for an item have a random bonus claim blocks.

 

My revised list, as a lot of those items allows for MASSIVE progression breaking

Thats the revised list from sky, some of these things are aplicable to mid-endgame users without progressing starting as infrastructure is needed for better items

As it is a lower list maybe chuck in a few sytle items that can only be gotten by voting?

 

Just in case you are not aware the random item plugin does not currently support giving set quantities of items, it can only give single items, so for example instead of the suggestion to give 16 charcoal it would be better to give 1 block of charcoal which can be broken down into 9 pieces of charcoal instead.

 

I did think of that but there isnt a block of charcoal, there is a coal block but I am not sure if coal allows progression breaking

 

To be honest with you, I think minor progression breaking from a vote reward is acceptable to a point... as a donor I can join the server and then do /kit resource and have a bunch of coal, lapis, diamonds, iron, gold, cobalt etc given to me, but that only breaks a relatively small part of the progression since to make a tinkers tool out of the cobalt I still need to follow the necessary steps to build a smeltery and make casts and stuff.. now if there was any elementium on that list for example then yes that would definitely be massively progression breaking

 

Minor progression breaking is certainly acceptable, and being a donor getting resources is necessary. I probably could make a point of ardite picks breaking progression due to not having to make steel through a blast furnace and going straight to the higher tier ores. But as you get diamonds and stuff I dont think its that much of a problem

Maybe (if avaliable) adding voting picks/axes ect from tinkers
So something like
Common
Pickaxe - Iron, haste, fortune 3 (useless in this pack), repair
Axe - Iron, haste, fortune 3, repair
Mattock - Iron, repair
Sword - Iron, looting 1, repair

Medium
Sword(better type) - Iron, looting 3, repair, haste

Rare
LumberAxe - Iron, fortune 3, repair
Scyth - Iron, repair

Kind of a crap selection, someone who knows more about tinkers tools should redo but just a general idea

 

I like the idea, but again I don't think the current vote reward plugin would support tools with existing modifiers, the basic tinkers tools you can spawn in with creative mode would possibly work since they have simple item id's but I don't think anything with nbtdata would work..

Little thing about "Progression Breaking:" It doesn't work. Yes, you'll have the data filled in to complete those quests once you get to them, but having that data filled in will not allow you to skip any quests that require you to progress down the line, anyways. Say you need to get Iron, then Diamond, then Steel. Getting a steel ingot will not unlock the steel quest, nor will it finish the Iron or Diamond quests for you. Only once you finish both of those two quests will you suddenly find your Steel quest completed, at the same time it is unlocked.

 

i would like to say that progression breaking is possible but it might take a bit. say a couple quest from where you are you need to get an iron ingot. and today you just got one from voting, all of a suddon that one quest that you needed to get that iron ingot is done and you dont have to do any of the work you were suppost to do. and therefore with getting items from voting would break a lot of quests because you could just "skip" over them

 

Could put some random vanilla potions in there. Swiftness, night vision, healing, etc. Does that shortcut any quests?

 

It doesnt, only some of the witchery potions need those potions and some of the high end seeds
But once you get to those you have everything you need to make a thousand of them

 

Considering that you are limited to only a few votes per day, if you are lucky enough to get an iron ingot in your first day and that saves you a few hours of early game work then that's a great vote reward especially because it's such a small chance that it will happen before you have already got to it anyway

I think it would be fun to have those rare chances for voters since donors get that for some things already anyway.

By the way, since I can't get in to game right now can someone get me the item id for tiny potato please..?

 

You skip the effort, yes, but not the progress. Typically, these quests are set up so you need the majority of the devices, anyways.

 

The thing about the questbook is that its not necessary. You can make a blast furnace on your own without having to get the quest for it. Regardless, if anything like this were to be implemented I believe @BookerTheGeek would have the final say.

 

Ofcourse the quest book isnt necessary, but there is a progression set by the mods itself, which is why you cant get endgame items at the start

I would like to know @Constructl0n input before books final say
