This whole thing was done better here: Thaumcraft Basics | MineYourMind Community Some things that make life easier before doing thaumcraft: make a crimson cleric spawner, their armour gives you a vis discount, they drop void seeds, making voimetal ezpz to get, and they also drop knowledge fragments, which means you can essentially farm thaumcraft research aspects and use them to create notes so you dont have to scan stuff to receive hidden knowledge *there was something here but a certain ninja said for it to stay hidden make a spawner for the crimson preator to farm his awesome armour and sword, which is almost as good as ichorium (but not anywhere near awakened) and lastly make a wisp / eldritch guardian spawner, both drop etherial essence, but wisps are notably harder to but drop all kinds of essence, however guardians are easier to farm and drop eyes, making it easier to open portals to the outerlands, but they only drop alienis etherial essence and dark etherial essence (i think)

well then, i now feel slightly stupid but nevertheless i couldnt see it and decided to post my way of getting into the mod so research and obtaining resources isnt such a pain
