Thanks to a suggestion from @darkness1593 and a vote from the MyM council. We will from this point forward PURGE old servers that are on their way out or maps that are going to be reset. Here is the way that a purge will work, Announcement of Map Reset Goes Out We give time to make sure you can get the map setting the deadline for 2 Days before the server resets. 24 hours prior to scheduled reset/sever down, the server will be operating in an "Unlocked" condition All claims will be removed, and the Grief Prevention plugin will be disabled. The following server rules will be SUSPENDED, for this server, and time period only No Griefing - SUSPENDED No Raiding - SUSPENDED EXPLOSIONS - HECK YES! We will remove god and fly as well as the ability to toggle pvp. Map resets and everything goes back to normal. Now, although rules will be lifted for this 24 hour period as far as griefing and pvp is concerned, CHAT RULES WILL STILL APPLY. After the map reset the rules of the server will go back to normal, therefore and griefing or pvp bypass that happens after the reset will result in the same punishment as normal. This is something that we as a staff group felt like the players of our community could handle and so we have decided to give it a chance.
We should do /tpall into a small pvp arena were all items will be removed then they all get a /kit pvp (wich can iclude a decided kit of pvp weapons, tools and armor) and the winner can get a prize (Maybe a one time kit when server resets for example)
GAH! i don't have any, why do you think i made my octuple compressed cobblestone farm so large on monster!?!?!?!?
nooooooooo! all that work i need to redo D:, meh, i'll get nuke automation up and running tonight then
If anyone watch Mianite season 1, they would know what the "Purge" there was. Basically one day a week there was full on PvP and raiding. This was an interesting mechanic and made for some fun content to watch. There are very few servers that tried to emulate this, but i think it could be fun if handled correctly. I would love to see how this first upcoming purge on infinity goes. If its something the community really likes, maybe try to make a mini game of it?
