Normally we don't allow advertising or allow personal cases posts, however as this directly affects our ability to provide support at MyM I thought I should post this once (with Slind's permission). MrWisski has been a faithful and dedicated staff member for around a year now. In that time he has provided many custom coded patches, plugins, and fixes. He also is consistently in the top 10 for tickets and support requests handled. Recently there was a snow storm in our part of the US and it has caused the free city WiFi that he relies upon to fail. He now has to hop on another Access Point further away with poor quality. This results in packet loss and frequent disconnects along with the inability to remain connected to console during reboots. I've set a GoFundMe for Wiss that would provide hardline internet to him for 1 year. I'm trying to work with my contacts at the ISP to reduce the cost as part of this but for the time being have setup the goal as the full cost for 24 months. I plan to pledge at least $250 toward this and encourage you all to help our favorite bearded admin out! Www.gofundme.com/MrWisski
Doh! There we go edited. I've also been asked about non credit card methods and will be looking for a solution. Never done anything like this so trying to find the best way to help Wiss out.
What about a Kickstarter for his internet?[DOUBLEPOST=1454602163][/DOUBLEPOST]Also are you sure theirs not a better and cost effective option?[DOUBLEPOST=1454602642,1454602089][/DOUBLEPOST]like when i get paid id gladly give him $40
The only problem with Kickstarter is that it is an all or nothing. Either you reach the full amount and get that +whatever over; or you get nothing, and no one actually pays anything. With this, the GoFundMe is better, because it doesn't rely on getting all of it to succeed. It can be any amount and there's no limit.
the target for the gofundme is already very reasonable, I would contribute if I had the money, but sadly I currently don't really have any spare cash. Hopefully you can reach and exceed the goal
Update: MrWiss now has the interwebs and the bills are rolling in. Thank you all for your support, The Beard very much appreciates it. I donated a $1,600 laptop for his use as well.
