I've got an idea! Why dont we get like a Community project set up! aka, the Community creating a specific thing like, a modpack, or custom map, (or combined ofc) or MC Movie or anything?
tbh I'd love to see a nostalgia pack from the longstanding members of the community, maybe using some iconic mods such as IC2 Rotary/Reactorcraft, GregTech, and some others, a pack that actually takes a month or two to reach endgame on, yet still manages to be fun in the process
While I feel it's a great idea, in theory, on paper. I feel it's a great idea on paper, in theory. You're going to get multiple opposite opinions. Perhaps if it was "sections" of the community so it's not too large and perhaps it's a pack and another group does a mod for it, I feel if it's a big community group, it won't work due too many people.
IC is different(and in my opinion better) than IC2 and yeah rotary is fun, would need to be tweaked for better recipes tho xD[DOUBLEPOST=1454729417][/DOUBLEPOST]hell it could even be an adventure pack like hexxit(my all time favorite pack(maybe cause it was my first?))
Rotary's Reika I think. You can't tweak. Hexxit was alright, Tekkit was my first. Back when Tekkit Classic, was tekkit.
hexxit was alright but well, Modpack could be possible, I've still got a modpack that is currently on hold that we could work on, Orbit is the name. if you're interested in helping with Orbit, tell me! we could make it a community made modpack!
I am completely up for this idea, that being said, you would run into some difficulties on the version of the old mods, it would be possible but would require a lot of tinkering around. I would like to play with Xycraft and Dartcraft again (at least before those time torches were implemented) Jim, depending on your pack, the theme and what you are doing with it, I'd love to help I have some experience with creating modpacks, but that being said I also know a few people who have ALOT of experience with them (that being said, I am not longstanding, I did first log in over 350 days but have not been "active" until recent, although I am still very interested, and I belive I have access to all of Reika's old mods, being a donator)
In theory. What did the Community get to "really" do concerning it though? Booker has made polls, and thats great. When Krhymez developed the pack, and I like/respect Krhy, don't get me wrong, the community got close to zero input on the orignal mods.
Maybe so but as it is a community pack i personally have made a poll regarding a mod i want added that would be a good addition to the pack
Well like i said get involved i my self was involved in building spawn and spotting issues as well as adding two new mods into the pack redstone arsenal and ender tech post suggestions ask for mods this pack is on the road to success
I never saw a fully community pack work out. Monster was one were all the mods that got the most votes were added and it was a mess, even the FTB-Team is saying that. I believe there needs to be one general idea that gives a line to follow. Around it the community can adjust things in a feasible manner that does respect the initial line. With a big community you have so many opinions and wishes and if you would go after every idea that gets some fame you are tossing the project back and forth. PvP <-> no PvP, griefing <-> no griefing, mca <-> no mca...
