A kit has already existed in the past. Obviously if they disabled it in Infinity Expert, it was for a reason.

 

You see that an admin has already agreed saying a kit is a good idea for it right?

 

One admin does not decide for all. One admin could think it would be a good idea to give all players /fly, doesn't mean it is, lol.

 

this could be abused and used as a source of gold

 

1 Gold every 20 minutes does not seem like anywhere near enough of a threat for that to be considered.

 

How about making an ekit for it that is only activateable once every 2 weeks or once every month thus stopping the abuse of it for gold and still letting players get the shovel.

I think 20 minutes is fine, Gold isnt such a high quality resource that it would matter much plus its every 20 min. Mining you will get it faster.

 

Exactly. 1 Gold every 20 minutes can't really be considered an exploit, imo

 

You don't really need a shovel every 20 minutes. 1 a day is more than enough.

Why make it so long? If someone makes a mistake they are punished for 24 hours.

 

If they've managed to break the one they spawn with, and then break the first one they get from the kit... Well. They could just go mining and get the gold and make one.

No. Infinity Expert is not simple. And getting better tools is part of the first things to work on. If a player really cannot get to the point where they can make better tools, they may want to try playing on Infinity normal mode for a bit to learn. There's also all sorts of wikis out there to assist with learning how the mods work.

 

That has nothing to do with it in any way. What if they are working on their smeltery, just to be able to make a pick to get a shovel so they cant protect their stuff with, something comes up and they have to leave. Then someone comes and takes it? Why go through all that because "Oh, there may be 1 person that tried to farm 1 gold every 20 min"

 

Theft is against the rules regardless of protection.

 

1) Like Xyrik stated, theft is a ban able offense that can be reported.

2) If someone doesn't have the common sense to keep the golden shovel from the kit after breaking the first one that they spawn with for claiming their base then I believe they should be "punished" for 24 hours.

3) You would be surprised how much a single gold ingot every 20 minutes could help on some mod packs... (and possibly skip some progression)

4) If they are making a smeltery they should have a pickaxe pretty soon able to mine at iron level so they can get gold.

 

Perhaps you could sell them on the market but the thing is that packs with iguana tweaks can pose an issue as gold can jump through the progressive aspect but thats just a though[DOUBLEPOST=1454863553][/DOUBLEPOST]on the other side i see no point of creating commands / plugins for an issue that is so small i understand that if you loose your shovel it may be an issue

there is a chance of being griefed sure but there probably wont be much to loot considering that you cant make one and
in the beginning placing down a chest creates a 10x10 claim i believe so this whole command thing is in my opinion not needed i am sure that some player that has a lot of material will lend you a shovel or even sell you one if you ask nicely.
