While I enjoy playing MyM, enjoy the community I find the rules to be open to the staff members view more than I would like.
Ex) Staff Member G is very anti-swearing, says mutes will follow if I have to warn you again.
Staff Member LaxG feels the Chat filter is enough of a reminder, and doesn't threaten to mute when a player swears because the chat filter stops swearing from actually happening and turns it into
Let us say LaxG plays on Galactic Science, my first server. The way LaxG interacts and views rules would in theory shape how I believe the standards are for the rest of the MyM servers. This is not the case though because I finish Galactic Science and move towards Bee Happy where G is, and he is very strict compared to LaxG. This causes discord, the standards differ from staff member to staff members and players become unclear on how rules are applied.

Another example would the No Harassment rule on Civi and how this applies to PvP. Staff Member G might believe murdering a player twice would count as this, and LaxG would believe murdering a player four times or more counts as Harassment.

I simply have worries about the rules and how each staff members views them differently and requires different standards from players. I worry that I might get reported and be punished for "breaking" a rule by one Staff Member, when in my opinion and several other staff members opinion I would of been warned, or nothing would of happened.

I know this issue is not as dire as I paint it, but more clarification on vague rules would be nice.

    Cheers. :3

It is not. I have had these concerns for awhile, I like the staff team. Pleasurable people, easy to interact with. This is simply an effect of a large community.

If I had an issue with certain staff members, I would of a made a report. I do not, I was suggested to post this for community view/input.

I fear that clarifying the rules more in depth won't move things to a better place. The more we go into detail the more difficult it is to know and stay ahead of them. The small rule adjustments per server which are usually not more than 1-3 are already troubling from time to time.

I believe the best approach would be to make the two that are differing a lot in their judgment aware of it and let them work on a more common enforcement. In extreme cases I would recommend on creating a small report in the complaints section, so we are aware if someone is falling out of line and work on getting them back on board in terms of common judgment.

I'll just clarify why he made this post, he wants clear rules because he wants to know how close to the line he wants to nudge up (most of us do) i still thnk a case by case basis is still required for all the staff opinions, if there could be more ways of clarifying why a staff member punished for what would be better

We have a staff internal document making the dream enforcement pretty clear, but I don't like to publish it, as it would probably be used as pure argument source. Overall it is a guideline and not a set of rules. If the @Manager see it differently I don't mind it being published.

If you feel like it being out of line, submit a small report, no one will bite you because of it and we can give you our opinion in private.

Edit: if it is about the language rules, you could let the staff member know about the thread directly if you prefer.

Thank you. I was just worried that the fact there was no enforcement documentation in existence. I still feel that some enforcement across the board is varying, in terms of PvP on civi and swearing mainly, but as long as it's small things I can by all means live with that. I understand that a 100% consistent enforcement is impossible. Thanks. :3

If it is about swearing, please either let us know about the staff member or ask the staff member directly to look up that thread. If considered it should make the judgment pretty equal.

Regarding PvP, its a new thing for us. Never really had a PvP server that required strict rule enforcement, if you have any ideas that might help improving it, please let us know.

how about a counter? maybe a ticker that ticks up to x-kills by player xy, resets after y-hours, and performs an action z on player xy when the kill counter has reached x ? hope that doesnt complain you guys too much xD just an idea how that could be clarified. I like variables :)
