Done Updating our protections

    There needs to be a discussion on items that should be able to be used and what items shouldn't on this very unique server of ours. Claim protections have a variety of items that people aren't allowed to use in and around another's claim that may not make sense. The Thaumcraft wand is negotiable, but let me start off our list of items we think should be allowed (or not allowed) in claims, and please give your reason why.

    The flamethrower from Mekanism is harmless. as I've been told it can melt sand into glass and other things like that, but I have never seen this in my time of using it even before the last reset. However you are not allowed to use it near claims, even though its been rendered a purely offensive weapon.

    Honestly allow killing in claims but. No grave robbing allowing people to use all weapons

    Bossly.. thats been allowed for a long time. This is a discussion about items not people. If you don't have a item to suggest don't reply.

    I believe the Equal Trade foci will ignore the protection. Still not seeing any problem?

    We do not prohibit items in/around claims because we are mean, we don't like you, or we want to ruin your gameplay.

    We prohibit items in/around claims because they have the potential to bypass and grief a claim in a way that has a large impact, but because these items are still usefull, and desired, we restrict thier usage, rather than ban them outright.

    Our restrictions are global - they are the same regardless of modpack, so IF we have a server running a version of a mod that an item is exploitable on, it will be restricted on ALL servers. Only when ALL versions of an item lack the exploit that caused it to be restricted will we even consider removing it from the restrictions.

    if we hope hard enought then mithion will keep up his work on griefguard as this will allow you to take your wand foci onto claims and the only diffrence is it will not break anything(in theory)

    Yea but like slind said in another post the current system covers alot more and it would also take alot of integration to add new system :p

    i was nto suggesting we replace it and i was talking to someone who came up with the idea of makeing grief guard claims work when a plugin claim is made meaning you get the benifits with out drawbacks

    no i mean if this was done you could take for say a wand and walk ontot someones claim and not break blocks with it as grief gaurd actuly stops the forge event from taking place
