    Hello Mym!
    I'm working on a game!
(Dont worry i'll still be playing mym, this does not effect my gametime)
I've been thinking of any ideas for a while now but i cannot really think of any other puzzle aspects.
so i'm giving YOU the opportunity to help with the ideas! :)
I will edit this thread whenever something gets added or anything

    What kinda game is it?
Its going to be a Sci-Fi puzzle game based on Portal, Portal 2, and Talos Principle, and the room
But with original ideas and everything (hopefully)
Its a 3d and partially 2d puzzle game! But we'll get to that later!

    What engine?
I dont know exactly what engine i will use.
I am thinking of using one of these engines
    1. Unity
    2. Unreal
    3. Amazon Lumberyard
I'm not sure about Lumberyard, someone just showed it to me and i thought, maybe i'll use that
I'll let YOU decide which of these engines i'll use! ;)

What puzzle aspects do we have right now?
    1.
    A Tablet.
Portal has the portal gun, The Room has the eyepiece,
What to give this game? A Tablet! which will even have the settings of the game and everything.
it will show you the status, location, hints, and everything!
it Will be based off the Ipad though, but one of the goals at kickstarter will be, us adding a feature that you can change specific layouts, like for example, choosing from different tablets. so you can use your favourite tablet in the game. it wont be using the exact model but a parody so we wont get in trouble.

    2. Cables with length
There will be cables that you need to connect, they have a lenght of cable so for example, IF you have to connect something with a cable and there is 10 meter in between and you've got a 9 meter long cable, It doesn't fit.
if you have a 10+ meter long cable it does fit

    3. Computers to "hack"
There will be computers you can "Hack" in the game, This is where the 2d aspect comes in place! It will be a little ACSII Puzzle in the computer and if you manage to finish the puzzle, You hacked the computer! There will be a difficulty rate.

    4. Fixing stuff
Sometimes you will have to repair a specific thing because of it not properly working or not working at all. It will definitely also have a difficulty rate and i might be adding a reset button so if you do it completely wrong you can always reset the thing.

    5. i need Your ideas to fill this in and add more!

    Kickstarter
I'm planning on starting a kickstarter!
to hopefully fund alot of this stuff!
I Do need much more ideas and everything to actually get a kickstarter going.
I really want this project to work and really want to create the game,
My father will invest in the project Until the kickstarter. He is a buisnessman so this is the best option. so dont worry about having to donate before kickstarter or anything

    Things to do
    1. Get a proper name for the game
    2. Get a dev blog started to keep you guys informed (done)
    3. Start a proper storyline
    4. add more to this things to do

Thank you SO MUCH for reading this!
Have a nice day! and please help me out by giving ideas :)

Nice nice, sounds somewhat similar to a game trilogy called The Room

So what your thinking is of starting in a singular room ("like the docking station") and moving from room to room solving harder and harder puzzles. I know producing games isn't easy

yes but its not just puzzles, it is also basically like escaping etc with WIP storyline behind it, that i wont work on yet.
ALL that happens at the beginning is, you wake up in your room and everyone is gone

its going to be a 3d game, not 2d game, Unreal is one of the choices as engine, I havent decided yet, definitely not construct 2

The Unity engine is powerful but the graphics have always disgusted me.

you could make it like one of those games that uses switching from 2D to 3D part of the mechanic, sort of like the game Fez, you could even add some sort of rip in dimentions that causes it to keep the Sci-fi theme.

But one thing that i have noticed about all puzzle games, is that they all have some kind of central mechanic, portal had the portal gun, The room had the eyeglass. have you decided on the main mechanic yet?

the computers that you can hack is the current central mechanic currently, i might change this.

If you have any great ideas for a central mechanic, tell me.[DOUBLEPOST=1456754361,1456753982][/DOUBLEPOST]i think i got an idea! some kind of tablet with apps! Sometimes it updates and adds a feature!

Well since there's not too much info on the specifics of the game, like how far it is in the future, or where it takes place, the only one who can decide on something as big as the main mechanic right now is you. after all the game is in your head not mine[DOUBLEPOST=1456754462][/DOUBLEPOST]Most games that (im my oppinion) are good puzzle games, have some kind of special device, or ability that most people do not have IRL tho. just a thought...
