In my opinion, there is no reason why IN4 and IN5 need linked chat since both servers are standalone. 1. There is no market or inventory shared between these two servers so therefore, no need to communicate with the other server. 2. I get a flood of messages because no one knows how to use private messaging. 3. I can't disable messages altogether because I would still like to see server messages, command messages and messages from server-mates.
1. People might still have questions that nobody in their node can answer so they ask the other node. (Use tabby chat or ignore them) 2. /ignore. Tabby chat. 10% sure that messaging doesn't work across nodes. 3. Tabby chat. /ignore. Joining party.
Could their be something implemented making it so a player can turn off the bridge? They won't see the other node and when they say something, the other node can't see it also.
I don't think it really is necessary in my opinion if you really have that much of a problem with a lot of chat which many times there isn't actually that much chat entirely you should get tabby chat. As well if you are having this problem because you are trying to talk with friends via in game chat and are getting overwhelmed, I would advise you to use skype or teamspeak even if you don't have a mic it allows you to type in private messages without getting overwhelmed.
