    I have to agree with john, sorta.

    Affinities are a part of the mod. A know part documented in the book. This is very similar to the thaumcraft warp system.

    My understanding is that Affinities give a positive and a negative for getting them. I'm sorry if you decided you don't like the negative aspects of it. Don't spam spells. Variety is good.

    I'd you honestly feel a balance check is needed to improve the overall quality of the mod, then I advise you to talk to the devs on irc or the github.


    tl;dr

    We will not be adding uncraftable items to market unless their is a very good reason.

    i personally have an idea to add on to fungi's original recipe idea, but ake them fight the wither a few times. so make a dragon egg in the middle, 4 nether stars in the corners, and then each of the elemental essences (fire, water, etc.) since as far as i know, civilization is the only pack with Ars Magica 2, and since you can find dragon eggs in dungeon chests and such, the nether stars would require that you actually obtain wither skulls and kill the wither 4 times, or go through all the trouble of obtaining the minechem chemicals to synthesize a single star.

    Surprisingly, these beings can still be captured using conventional methods, and it might even be possible to force them through whatever portals they come here from if we build and attune some mechanism to them. Obviously, this will require no small amount of energy. Perhaps we can obtain this through magical means.
