Hey, I've made a full set of dark armor and upgraded it to "Empowered IV", then of course I charged it up. However, despite of "95% damage absorption" I'm still taking the same amount of damage as if I was wearing a diamond armor. Also it seems like instead of draining energy from the armor, durability is going down instead. Is this a bug? Or is it working as intended?

You have gotten it all wrong.
The dark steel armour is only as good as diamond.
The "95% damage absorbtion" is not your damage, but the armour's damage, meaning it will last much longer before having to repair it.

There are very few armours that shield a percentage of damage. Draconic Armour, Blood Magic Bound armour (~70%) & Omega Armour, these are the only ones I know from the top of my head that actually block percentages.[DOUBLEPOST=1462726098][/DOUBLEPOST]
Soooo if you meant that as in "protection" values, then if something hits a player in diamond armour(no enchants, no nothing) with a damage worth 100 hp, they are supposed to survive and only loose 5 hp? I would much prefer diamond armour over any other modded armour if that was the case.

That's disappointing... Now I see no reason to use dark armor instead of diamond, besides the ability to add a few special enchantments. It needed all those octadic capacitors just to absorb energy instead of durability, and it doesn't even absorb 100% of it, as some other armor does :/ That description was misleading but oh well...
Is there any other armor that provides more protection than diamond one (I'm kinda between early/mid-game)? Draconic and bound are out of my reach, but I don't recognize Omega.

Omega is Blood-magics T6 armour, which is thus likely quite far away as well.

I am not too familiar with Ferret Business at all, but if it has the Fluxed Electrum armour, I would recommend that. Thaumcraft void armour, is also (quite) good, but doesnt protect in percentage. Mekanism or Matter Overdrive may have armours as well, though I've not played with Mekanism for over a year now, nor have I ever really used matter Overdrive.

I think I saw flux armor once in NEI but I can't recall if it was actually in Ferret Business or in another modpack :D Thank you for your help, I'll be sure to check those out.
