this is the reactor setup i use in SF2.5, which when completely filled, produces 74krf/tick, and that's with default big reactors configurations! BigReactor simulator
Worst thing you can do building Big Reactor is over complicate the coolants... Your setup simplified with cryotherum only is more efficient. More rods, some insertion control - more efficient at 53%, more powerful at 0%.
@up Totally agreed. No point in such unefficient setups. There's a reason cryotherum is so hard (well, compared to other liquids) to make.
but the controversial issue here, is that instead of redstone, i would have had the entire outer space cryotheum, but due to a lack of such, i had to improvise. this is the best of what i could do.[DOUBLEPOST=1465746958][/DOUBLEPOST]also, the design, complicated as it is, is meant to balance as much as possible. i balanced yellorium consumption and efficiency, but i obviously couldn't save anything else. had it been different with a few changes, it could've reached 80krf/tick or higher. it's meant for my current situation. and to answer the top guy's question, it should work just fine on infinity. it's nothing special to sf2.[DOUBLEPOST=1465746971][/DOUBLEPOST]just, possibly harder to make
When you create your turbine if it is included on SF2 then you will notice really fast that that big of a reactor is not really needed. With a reactor that size you will be able to run probably 40+ turbines. Someone showed me a really nice way to setup reactors with turbines and I have been using it for a long time now. 4 of these output about 112k RF/t. Note how small the reactors are at the base. Also the ports connecting the steam and water are in between the turbines and reactors so no piping or anything like that. The conduits in front are mainly for the yellorium and water source going in.
nice! and yes, turbines are included. i might possibly go with turbines or something eventually. mind sending me a link to the reactor design you use? oh, and maybe the turbine design as well.
Well you can see in the picture the reactor setup is a 9x9x4 external blocks included. If I am not mistaken its a simple design for the reactors Reactor Design As for the control rods you will have to balance them to be something around 80% on most and 90% on the others. Just play around with it until you get the correct balance for the turbines. You can see in the image how the turbines are setup as well. Which is 9x9x13 These are in a private game right now but used to be on Infinity Node 3 before it shut down and they worked great. If I could I would show you them in game but at this time I do not have them setup anywhere.
This is also an awesome Reactor build. Build This is an example of how you should use it. The pink blocks are ludicrite and they go 4 blocks down. The turbine blades themselves go 10 down Total dimensions per turbine: 7x7x16 All together produces about 220k rf/t
This is a great design. I have used this for a while after finding it in a previous post by someone else. 228k rf/t all the coolant ports line up so no piping or tesseracts for fluids, produces just over 16k steam to supply the 8 turbines, and a single laser drill with lime focus can keep it stocked with uranium.
Very inefficient, but who cares about that when you have enough power to run 8 mining lasers? Build a yellow hut!
Inefficient eh? You have a build that goes over 100k rf/mb? Just out of curiosity. Maybe I need to tweak mine.
