    Hi guys,

    I've noticed that the FTB launcher has an update for The Ferret Business to 0.1.4

    Any idea when our server will be updated?

    Will we lose everything and start again?

    Any changes to worldgen IE: mods that add items in the world = require world restart
    Any changes to HQm that make massive changes to structure of quests = HQM restart

    After initial testing on SSP, I've noticed that after updating from 0.1.3 to 0.1.4, quests are not being reset automatically and progress is being saved. I've only checked with the "Initial Research" quests, it may also work (or not work) with other quests - eg. I don't know how would shops behave. Plus, the note from the update log: Yes, you will need to delete HQM Data from an older world.
    There are no new mods for worldgen, although many have been updated, including Mekanism's major update and changes within Realistic World Gen (although I don't know if our servers use it actually). Due to that, and due to the fact that a few mods are gone, overworld might have missing blocks.
    I see Fluxed Crystals 2 being updated and having bug fixes done just for Ferret. Maybe some of those fixes address performance issues caused by gem cutters/refiners? Hmm...

    I ain't no expert (yet) but I think hard reset can be avoided, just quest progress might be lost. That still needs further investigation and confirming, so it's hard to tell when will our server get updated.

    Oh, and here's the detailed changelog.

    personally i would rather have the update regardless of if it requires a total reset. just do it and get it over with.

    I hope this decision is made if a reset is needed or not as I've just started on Ferret and if my base is just going to get wiped, I won't bother until it's reset.

    The thing is, if worldgen items are changed, is a reset really that necessary? Because the farm world gets reset, so the new generating items would generate there. Sure, you might not have them in the main world, but you can just simply tp to farm world, and the worldgen items are there.[DOUBLEPOST=1468259691][/DOUBLEPOST]Well depending on if the amount of new worldgen items is big, or small such as a few new ores I mean.

    The issue with quests being reset after server restart is another thing that holds us from updating. Caigan wants to remove HQM and implement Better Questing instead (yiss). I'm not sure if he wants to change the questing mod ASAP, or just for 0.2.0, which is yet to be announced.
    This is most probably why we're going to skip 0.1.4, and wait for a fully functional release.

    The issue is that the questbook resets with every server restart, not just once. Some broke with that update causing it to not be able to be loaded.

    hes changing the questing mod for the next update, so yeah, its gonna have to be reset even if you update it to 1.4, when the next update comes up.

    According to Caigan this should be the last time the quest book resets, since all the quest that may change are on the better questing book now
