So I let my Turbine run without coils for a while...

Why build a draconic reactor when u can leave your turbine off and switch it in to get around the sane power out put I love it

To be completely honest, I am not quite sure.

I had thought I engaged the coil but apparently it ran with a constant 2000mb of steam/t for a few hours. Then i got this energy output.

If you run it with the coils off then the speed just keeps going up and up and up.. when you finally turn them back on that speed produces ridiculous rf/t... for a while... though once the coils are on the speed will drop back down and stabilise to a normal rate pretty quickly, so realistically you aren't actually producing more power overall, just storing up some of the potential for power and then releasing a large amount at once ;)

e.g. running for 24hs real time if it produces 28k rf/t (2000mb steam/t in max efficiency design with 32x Ludicrite blocks) that gives a total of 48,384,000,000rf

leaving coils off for 23.5h and then engaging the coils for 0.5h even with a huge starting rf/t would only produce about 1/4 of that before it dropped back down to a normal speed (a rough guess as cba to do proper math to try and work it out!).

I also read in that mod pack's info that running the turbine over speed can cause it to explode... that's why there is a Red section on the meter.

I guess it could be quite useful as a backup power supply, in case you run low on energy.

That was a planned feature, but it was never actually implemented.

Draconic Reactors can output WAY more than 300k - 400k RF/t that's why.
