is optifine allowed

I was just curios as to if players are allowed to install optifine into there client

 

Yes, many people have, though it tends to cause more crashes in modded clients.

as far as i can tell, if you can log on mym server's with a specific mod, then its probably allowed, since they have a mod/plugin that allows them to whitelist specific mods , wich prevents you from joining their servers if one of your mods isnt whitelisted.

Hmm, mine doesnt seem to crash. Well not yet atleast.

 

Optifine won't crash in every modpack, but certain ones such as Skyfactory 2.5 and 3 will crash your client, most times before it is even done loading

 

most of the time you can fix this by changing what version of optifine you have installed or by changing some things in optionsof.txt after the first crash.
