Done Rabbits

I'm trying to find a way to spawn rabbits without success.
Is there any way to get them to spawn without changing the biome to anything other plains or forest?

Vanilla spawnrules seems to require the biome set to one of these;
deserts, taiga, mega taiga, cold taiga, ice plains or flower forest

 

Pam'so ground traps can give you rabbit parts, actual bunnies though might require a biome change.

Even if google only mentions raw rabbit, it also produces rabbit hides in case anyone else wonders.
