I thought I recall reading somewhere that the other dimensions like Deep Dark, Nether, and Farm World are reset periodically to allow people to get resources that may have been depleted and clean up unused mining sites, etc. If this is the case, is it done on a set periodic time frame? I would like to set up a wither farm in the nether but I dont want to have my blocks wiped out on reset. In the alternative can a dimension be set up with RFtools dimensions that allows the wither to spawn and are player created dimensions reset or removed on any periodic basis? Thank you.
Hi Trellinane, You can read more about resets by clicking here. All worlds that are reset are listed here, so if it's not there, it doesn't get reset. There has been much debate about setting up dimensions strictly for wither spawning, however, at the end of the day it was decided against because every new dimension has it's own ID, so we would have to white list each and every dimension by hand. Not to mention, we want to stay as true as possible to the experience of killing the wither (not making too hard or easy) and so we keep functions such as it's explosions, which can be used to claim bypass and pvp bypass. In other words, it's not really practical at this point in time. You can read more about that by clicking here (although it's not specifically rFTools, the concept is the same. RFTools has a submod, RFTools Dimensions, sometimes part of RFTools depending on versions, which allows creation of custom dimensions in a technological mystcraft style, with power costs depending on the features used. It tends to be disabled on MyM because they can be quite taxing on the server, with the possibility to bring even the strongest server to its knees from a single bad dimension.
I knew about thet feature and I thought that it was disabled. Then this guy mentioned RFTools dimensions, so I asked id those are disabled or not.
