Or any other way to minimize it? I am not against it, just prefer not to see it all the time ;)

Please...... This is a horrible feature, and I will have to just turn off the chat entirely for now.

If any mods or admins try msging me sorry, cant see any chat at all right now.

Can you post a screenshot on how it looks like?

Its annoying seeing all the chat going back and forth. I find it incredibly distracting to see it all. Im sure alot of people will love it, so a way to turn it off would be nice.

No idea of how it looks right now, I turned off all chat as a temporary solution

With tabbychat we can filter out into channels, But we cant do this for local server without a delimiter in front of our text. I suggest a <L> for local server chat. should be a simple addition to the config files.

here is a view of what we have to look at if we don't want to hide the global completly but put it in its own channel
[doublepost=1506107693][/doublepost]and this is just the global when i filter it into its own channel

Thanks, I guess global chat works best with tabbychat.
If you change the brackets [] to <> in your tabbychat settings it will move global messages in a extra tab.

yes this does move global to its own tab and makes it easier to see as in the 2nd pic. But in the first pic is the * tab which displays everything and this is the only way to see local chat because our normal chat has no uniform way of letting tabby chat know. With adding a <L> it would make it a whole lot easier. If i find a way i will let folks know. If someone else knows, then i would love to hear how. Thanks for your time and effort you put in to providing us with a place to enjoy minecraft together.

There is a setting in the shop or menu to turn it off.

Create a filter with the expression ^<G> and select "Inverse match".
