I think that this topic should be continued on another thread because it deals with programing limitations and a suggestion rather than the "cost" of chunkloading on MyM servers
Its always good to see that the owner actually interacts with the community here, i have been in several places where it was near impossible to reach the owners or admins, so I appreciate that, but Kisstq was correct, heres not enough given to people just coming to the server, it will drive people to look for other things that will potentially give them more for there vote or for just even there return. I was use to not having to worry about chunk loaders being turned off ... we got a certain amount for free. Some people like to have a broad range of area to build rather than a certain area where they are more confined with there builds, so sometimes, depending on your situation, chunk loaders are more necessary. Perhaps there can be a player detection feature added to the chunk loader that would disable or enable as the player comes and goes then? Overall, give more to new people to make them want to stay. Gives better potential to gain a paying customer, considering as of right now it seems more geared for pay to win, you might be surprised to the results of doing so. Right now gold chunk loaders are disabled and the tickets aren't hard to come by i for example besides being patron I vote when I rember to and save tokens to when needed For claim blocks I normally just get enough to claim a 3x3 chunk zone and build there and then might need more if I plot down an IE excavator and it also gets a iron chunk loader For tickets I spend 500 tokens at a time and I have more then enough to keep going until I get borred of the pack But where do you see the pay to WIn On the other network I play on I won't tell wich one You need to pay to even get permission to use chunk loaders and then buy said chunk loaders whit your hard earned money So I don't see the pay to win unlike some other networks and even other games
And lets also not mention those Networks that make you pay cashie money if you want to unlock Quarries/Digiminers or otehr such items/machines they put behind a paywall.
I dislike taking stuff away from players which this implies. There is even less need for chunk loading in the beginning. I'm not sure if I understand you right. We are one of the very few if not the only network where you can't buy chunk loaders for money, it is only obtainable by voting and the patron rank which gives way less than you get by voting.
no joke, it wouldn't be the first time I've seen servers put damn near everything behind a paywall. You want an undamaged place to build? buy a dimension. you want to automine? buy it on our store! you want to generally progress in a mod, but noticed something's recipe is disabled? It's cause' we want you to buy it and pray that RNG serves you well. So many servers do that, and it's a surprise to me that some of them haven't had Mojang shoving their EULA down their throats yet.
As I have stated before. I build in a large scale area and I don't use chunkloaders, I have no problems with chunkloading. You dont' need chunkloaders to play any pack ever, they are a quality of life item and the fact that you DO currently get them for free is amazing considering (As stated before) Most other servers require you to pay for them with IRL cash.If you cant take 2 minutes out of your day to vote then you shouldn't have time to play minecraft If it were up to me offline chunkloaders would be disabled on every server as they allow people with laggy bases to lag the server 24/7
I'm also very happy for you _sporefreak_. That is great to know that you have no issues with having multiple areas you have equipment or builds to disperse lag from a singular focused area. Everyone has a different situation from you, try to keep a open mind to whatever situation someone may be presented. You keep stating that most servers make you pay, if you need proof of that not being true, I'll gladly list them here but havent done so in respect to the rules and owner. You would also be surprised to find the number of people on those servers to. That can be a problem though in my opinion for players, not the owners lol. I have multiple places within a certain area or biome to perform a certain task or get a multiplier for the area its in, chunk loaders can be necessary, you would be naive to honestly think they were not. I would vote for the server I like or go to, regardless of if they had methods to attempt to persuade the player to vote or not, but understand why it would be if they had them. Theres many things though other than chunkloaders that can perform that same task for a server is what I was getting at.
The thing whit other chunk loaders there no way of turning them off and they might be unstabel besides try to not have one chunk builds as they impact the server harder. I don't know 100% why I spreds it to 3x3 or even 5x5and only chunk load the onces that have procssing systems Besides the currebt system works fine for chunk loading and tickets and claim blocks arbt really a big problem
Having 14 Vote Sites I can use each day, averaging 120-130 Tokens each day that I remember/bother with voting sure helps!
That does beg the question, if there are ~14 sites that are able to be voted on which all give vote tokens then why aren't all of them listed on the voting page? Certain players having access to more voting sites than everyone else gives a blatant unfair advantage, and honestly I'd be inclined to label anyone using such unlisted vote sites as an exploiter, since the fact that they are not listed surely implies that they are not officially authorised..?
Or ya'll missed that the vote sites rotate on the list..... Or that your Browser has a Bookmark feature? And I used to have 16 sites, but 1 of the sites failed to renew it's URL, and the other pulled MYM from it's listings. [doublepost=1517303719][/doublepost]BTW - Mrminesheeps, I'll DM you the list on Discord. Since I see you ingame from time to time and have seen you actively helping the community.
Yeah you linked me it on slack a while back like in march or something i think, either that or someone else linked me it
ya, a few of MY lists are still in circulation, like the updated list of staff commands. I know a few staffers have a copy of that, lol. but remember, I'm not a 'team-player'
