Hello! I'm back again to share my thoughts on the new server, and I'm interested to hear others thoughts. I've never been a huge fan of FTB produced packs, but this one is better than most packs. If i do enjoy a FTB pack it usually has quests, i like being told what to do and how to do it. This pack stands out to me because there's always something to do, and it tends to keep you engaged in multiple projects. That's my thought on the pack itself. When i heard MYM was doing a 1.12 pack, I didn't expect the server to be in good condition at all. I was extremely surprised when i started playing. Once again MYM has topped themselves and proven me wrong. The server does have some lag spikes here and there, but for an experimental server it is outstanding how it runs. There are a few bugs, but as always the MYM staff are on top if it as soon as someone reports a bug. This is a huge step towards the MYM community expanding to newer packs, and expanding server sizes. MYM has really topped themselves here and i couldn't be more thankful for the staff and community for making this server a real thing! (If you do run across a bug, leave a ticket as it will benefit the community, and if someone else finds it, they may abuse it.) And since this still seems to upset some people, ill share my opinions on DJ being a patron only server. I haven't played DJ yet, as I'm not a patron, but i have my opinions. I believe it was a real smart move from the developers and staff to make this patron only. This will increase the amount of Patrons purchased, and it will give the old and new Patrons another reward for supporting the community. This was also a huge financial step for MYM, as Patrons are a huge source of income for MYM. I do not believe they should release DJ to the public, and in the nearer future they should do something like this again (when DJ starts dying down, which should be a while since its a hardcore pack). We all have opinions, and we should all respect each others opinions! Speaking of opinions! I am playing a bit on Revelation, but using it more as a testing ground to get to know some of the new mods. Normally kitchen sink packs bore me really quickly, and for me personally they are much harder than a progression pack like Infinity Expert or Divine Journey, whether it has a questbook or not. The recipes on the progression ones might be harder, but the mechanics are the same and the progression gives me at least some ideas what to do or forces me to learn new mods. When I play kitchen sink, I usually play the mods I already know. Too many options, so it is hard to choose where to start. Then there are packs that hide their kitchen sinkiness behind a questbook, but in a lot of cases the book is poorly written anyway. I am not sure whether FTB is planning to put out an expert mode version of revelation, their plans for an expert pack have been changing a dozen times over the last 2 years. They already announced expert modes for the new pyramid map, maybe that is where they are going with this. Who knows.
I feel where your coming from man, I love to be guided in one way or another because In normal packs I never stop to look at the mods I haven’t done because I don’t know where to start on them, fingers crossed the next pack has quests or some kind of guiding system.
