Done chickens are gone

hello guys,
the chickens I planted on the grass disappear when every server is restarted. why is this happening? thanks.

 

Might be because entities are cleared when a server reset happens

 

So how do we do chicken farm on the server? i dont know, im new at the server. sorry, thanks.

 

Im not fully sure how it works but if you pick up the chickens in a golden lasso before a reset and them put them down afterwards that would make it so you keep your chickens

 

now i tried, golden lasso is a very costly and time consuming item. there must be another solution. thank you for your help.

 

You can also make a few nesting pens for your chickens and keep them there. That way they do not despawn or get hurt by anything. Use a net to capture the chicken, then place it in the nesting pen.

 

Depending on the number of chickens they may be despawning due to the amount of mobs in the chunk and surrounding area, the chickens may be hitting the mob cap. Also those chickens in skyfactory 3 are notorious for getting themselves into trouble so as Punane recommend they are better left in a nesting pen.

If you use the nesting pens then no, they will not despawn ever. And this is part of the Hatchery mod, you should check it out since they allow you to make very cool new chickens that give you different materials such as wood, coal, diamonds and more.

 

Chickens tat give more resourses its allmost like the moo fluids mod

 

I tried the nesting pen route and there were a few issues I ran into:

• Items specific to the chicken would pop out of the pen i.e. iron ingot for an iron chicken
• Chickens would stop producing items and still seemed to despawn when I took them out

 

I realized these problems now.

 

Let me address those problems the best I can.

The items pop out of the pens on our servers. It is an odd bug I have also noticed but using an item collector or some pipes/conduits seem to be a temporary fix to it. Perhaps making a report about it in the private bugs report will help to get it fixed. I made a report about it, now we wait.
Chickens stop producing items. They sometimes stop due to chunks loading/unloading and it does not fit well with the Hatchery mod. You can use a net to take them out and put them back in again to make them work again. This can also happen on single player but much less than on servers.
Chicken despawns when you take it out of the nesting pen. This is a mod error that causes the chicken to suffocate for no apparent reason but the nesting pen does not allow it to die. As long as you do not take it out of the nesting pen it will stay alive. Try to keep some backup eggs ready at all times.
