D.I.E was unexplainably difficult, I remember I couldn’t even figure out how to mine because the roof kept collapsing down on me. I’d love to relive my memories of being trapped in my small dirt hut being afraid of literally everything. Keep us updated on this idea! :)

The problem with D.I.E was that you would spawn in, run around, and immediately die because TFC is incredibly hard to deal with, making a house at first required you to live under a greatwood or silverwood tree, and if you had a challenge mob nearby you were screwed immediately, at night it'd be impossible to survive anything without preventing mobspawns, and getting food is a challenge due to seasons, it's hard to explain how many times one must die to get somewhere in the pack, but it's a LOT.

Tfc? Terra ferma craft right that's easy the only main problem is the ore gen and for self defence lots and lots of stone knifes

Oh, I definitely have all you'd need for it. You are right, I built it. Appreciate the tag. Still the hardest modpack in Minecraft imo. It was a blast for sure. I've OFTEN thought about doing a remastered version or an "easy mode" (as in the second hardest modpack in MC) version, ironically, to this day literally no one has made it to ProjectE in that pack, which was the key, although totally hidden and gated without looking at the files.

Flob, what were you thinking? Just a reboot? I still have the build, it would be easy to update, or were you thinking of a remaster in modern MC?

Cbro iirc the idea originated with matie and Flob is just helping him get there, not sure if you are in contact, but he said something about reaching out.

Sounds good, I'm also on the Discord of course.

I looked into TFC2 and I don't think it will ever be coming out. A small group of beginner devs are working on bringing TFC into 1.12, not sure on their timing though. I did play a different modpack with a mod that was inspired by TFC and felt very similar, I'll try to find it, either way this could/should happen.

EDIT: Here it is: Overview - No Tree Punching - Mods - Projects - Minecraft CurseForge

PS. Nice signature heh heh, classic.

Hahaha, let me see if I can find the ol' dropbox link.

Didn't take as long as I thought it would, still as I left it:

Finally found the right one! 30 edits and an hour later, finally found it and got it uploaded...

    Dropbox - modpack.zip

Looking at that pack, it wasn't the end pack after all. Let me do some more hunting around for my final rendition of it. I think that version was one or two before it was stable. OOOHHHHH that's right, dropbox didn't work with technic so I switched to copy.com which doesn't exist any more... I'll keep hunting. So that version was one of the first or second ones, ultra unstable.

    MC 1.7.10

Should be pretty stable, let me know if you get it set up or on a server, I'd TOTALLY be down for a nostalgic run of it, for study purposes of course.

EDIT: Even found the Technic link: C&C D.I.E. - Technic Platform

Heh heh, I kinda thought that might be the case. Odd though, same MC version back then ran is surprisingly smooth. Ohhh Java. It was Java 7 back then. Are they Java crashes?

I'm curious now, going to boot her up myself.
