(Buyable server-perk idea) No mining-speed penalty while flying

So, the title explains it pretty well, but I think it's a good idea, to be able to fly, however you want, angel ring, /fly, to be able to also mine as well, without it being drastically slowed down.

It's a small thing, but it would really be worth being able to buy, for like $5. If it's possible, it'd be really cool to get.

From a player’s point of view, I see the appeal for this, but is it really worth it to spend money instead of doubletapping the spacebar to land/place a block you can land on to mine with the normal mining speed? Not sure if it would be logical to spend money on something like this.

 

It's something people would pay for. I would. It doesn't matter if its logical to spend money, it matters that people will spend money. There's thousands of items that are sold for ridiculous prices, that are illogical.

don’t most packs on this network have some sort of tool than mine so fast that the mining speed debuff while flying does not apply. such as the draconic evolution staff of power or the projectE red morningstar. The perk wouldn’t necessarily be useful in a kitchen sink back were the standard recipes are used but could be useful in a hard-core pack where those tools are pretty end game and difficult to make. also there is the old vanilla Minecraft fall back of efficiency five pick ax plus a haste 2 beacon

 

Not sure that this is even possible.

 

I believe that some mods (I forget which ones) have had items that remove the debuff while flying. I'm certain I have seen it somewhere, but sadly I don't remember even which modpack it was in.

I've always avoided tools that mined really quickly. I didn't like mining what I didn't want to mine, especially if I'm in, for instance, a skyblock.

 

Sad truth, sometimes people have more money than they know what to do with and as such spend it on overpriced cosmetics. In more extreme situations some will even spend thousand of dollars on power upgrades to become top dog in a pvp based game

For for mining full speed, just place an angel block under ya, they're easy enough to make.

 

Logically it'd would be easier to place a block but as humans we are mostly illogical in our existence. I am basically saying I'd buy it

 

I would buy the upgrade not because I have money but to give back to the network

Use a fast metal add Redstone and reinforced modifiers plus lapis and if there's room auto smelt

But would still buy the upgrade

The only thing I can find that would allow this is a mod and it is only for 1.8 and 1.7.10. Plus in order to use this, we would need to make a separate back with it added and people who want to play on our server would need to use our launcher or add the mod themselves. To be completely honest, the idea is great, it just cannot be implemented.

No iam not a code writer but could a plug in not be written tjat in Theory work?

 

No because it would need to change a core game mechanic. A mod is required.

 

It may actually be possible to cheese from the server side by placing a block under the player whenever they start to break a block while flying, and removing it when they stop breaking. Alternatively all flying players could just be given a haste 2 buff.

 

Either that or I just could get off my lazy rear and try to make a mod that does that

 

doesnt one of the sigils from blood magic place a fake floor under you?
