I'm not sure what to call this but I think it would be awesome if each server had an ongoing "Best Base Ever!!" king-of-the-hill type competition. Pics of the reigning base would be displayed on website, maybe in their server forum or even a new page on site. This base would reign as Server X's Best Base Ever! until someone else came along and built an even better base. Bases that have been dethroned could be archived to a Hall of Fame. Obviously Schematica, etc would be disqualified. I think this would add a lot to the community. People love being the best. They love a little competition. They love being rewarded for their efforts. They love showing off their hard work. And they love seeing the awesome bases other people build. Thoughts?
I'm not sure the network could handle this type of competition, things on the actual dedicated event server are a bit slow at times as is, but having some competition for each server, I think would just not work well. If people want to compete join the event. We need more players doing that
If there is enough interest for it, we could look into having an events month across the network, we thought about this when we started. The issue was that not all modpacks are created equal. Some people might feel that not having Chisel&Bits is a disadvantage, while having carpenters blocks might be an advantage/disadvantage. Hope that makes sense.
I think its is a great idea. but would the competition then only be judged on looks or the practical use also? also why disqualify stuff if all have the same advantage.. its is only server based so it not like those from the infinity server would compete with those on the vanilla xD
