MyM has social media accounts and so does 99% of the player base. I personally feel that the forums should have the ability to link to these accounts. My suggestion is to add "Like and Share" buttons to different categories and posts, such as Announcements, Server Info and Change logs, Tutorials Tips and Tricks, and the Showcase Album. (Maybe even the shop) Would be nice to see a topic or funny post or new release of a new server on mym and be able to share it within our own social media groups. These share links would be added next to the Quote and Reply links on the right side of each post. In the album it can be added anywhere on the bottom right of the image itself. Would also be nice to have some floating buttons on the right hand side of the page in the white area. If I am not mistaken which I could be it would be just outside the wrapper as I believe the center page would be the wrapper. These buttons would be the social media icons maybe even ones that show how many people are currently following the social media pages. Could even add them in their own window right above the forum statistics inside the wrapper. This is mainly a suggestion directly for Sirwill and Slind, but all are welcome to comment ideas and thoughts about this issue, maybe suggest better placements or something. Thanks this is just my thoughts on the social media aspect of MyM. Get our players on social media then social media will start coming to us.
I'm not sure this is reasonable to implement given the work required. We use ZenForo to run the forums (a template) and it would be difficult to implement in a way that doesn't stand out too much against the theme of the forums. A bright blue button will look out of place compared to the rest of the page. I'm not even sure this is possible without ZenForo pitching a fit. Sent from my SM-A520W using Tapatalk
Honestly it wouldn't be hard to do, For the posts it would just be a link, wouldn't have any graphic button or anything just text exactly like the current like, quote and reply links on posts. As for the rest it wouldnt have to be bright blue custom icons or designs can be created easy. XenForo wouldn't say anything about it as it is a forum with templates you can customize. Keep it in the template and its no issue. Heck I don't think they would care if you modified their source code a bit as well. Just have to keep the XenForo copyright on the page and not remove it.
I more meant XenForo as in the website, not the company. It might not work, and to my knowledge slind himself or someone with access to the website would need to change this.
