Ok, so this might have been asked before, if so im sorry. but its been on my mind for quite a while now.

Please help me understand the following:
    • You guys decide to create a server for a new pack.
    • You decide on which items to ban for server performance/abuse/glitching/duping
    • You decide on what server plugins to use
    • You basically release a pack with a lot of stuff in mind...
Why does it take you guys always 3-4 weeks to decide on an endgame items list and why do you not publish said list at the same time you release a new server?

Same thing with Po3 now. Its a skyblock server. Theres a clear progression questline. Why is there still no endgame items list published? Especially since it is a skyblock pack, where is the list stating everything not dirt/oak sapling is considered endgame? How hard can it be to release that at the same time as the pack?

(might just be my logic thats the problem here, but id love to understand this).

Also, dont take the way im writing this as negativity, i dont mean it like that. Just saying... never know when aido might delete my post again for arguing :D *wink wink @ aido*

Quick and dirty answer is, because we may not have played the pack all the way through or thoroughly enough to decide what is and isn't end game. When we test them privately we're more concerned with things that will break or crash the server.

PO3 is a Patron only server, so and this is solely my opinion, I don't feel a rush to provide and end game list until the pack is public. I hear you crying, but why wyndman why would you do that to us! You can refer to my end game list guidance from previous requests, but again I can throw a quick summary out there. End Game lists are two predominant reasons, there are other smaller ones, but these are the largest ones.

    • The list prevent players from steam rolling through a pack simply by buying things on the market. This puts some level of regulation into that server's economy as well as prevents a player from flashing their cash and quickly growing bored. Bored players tend to either go elsewhere or cause disruptions here.
    • End game lists prevent pigeons. By that I mean begging. Feed a pigeon they keep coming back and hounding you for food until you eventually leave. Feed a player technology that you had to work for they're going to keep asking for things until you get frustrated and leave or mute them. Not really an ideal situation for either of you!
So why don't we rush to get an end game list on a patron sever? Patrons are invested into the server already, they are far less likely to suffer either of those scenarios and for better or worse because you are invested in the server I tend to think as patrons you can have a freer hand in how you play the pack.

With a regular pack, think of End Game lists like a ban appeal, are they important? Sure, but we have so many other aspects throughout the day to work on it just isn't the top priority. They also require a significant amount of time and discussion, usually to still leave players unhappy about the list.

I have a couple issues with your reasoning. correct me if you feel im wrong.

A market? On a skyblock server? I thought markets were supposed to be disabled by default on skyblock packs... Also trading in public chat is not supposed to be done unless its between players who can both make what they are trading for... right? i mean thats been always been the unspoken rule.

Hence why i wonder why you dont release at least a basic Endgame Items list. I mean it doesnt have to be complete, even the rules state t"The rules may change without notice and consent at any time." Even if your list isnt complete, you are still limiting part of the bird-problem from causing disruptions. That its not complete is subject to change over time. Would still help is all im saying.

Patrons are invested? Rly? We -need- to pay in order to play the nice/newer packs. Its just a pay wall. That doesnt stop any lazy bones from buying server upgrades or ingame item kits that totally break progression. So why would that stop people from begging? If you dont release any lists, people will beg (or at least just ask). I mean public trading has been rampant on Po3 for example since the day it was released. Sharing of seeds, sharing of resources. Im sort of happy that this post seemed to have triggered Grey into making an endgame items list for the pack and not wait untill the end of march with it. I just dont understand why you assume that because people pay to play a pack, they would be less lazy/pigeony? :D Or am i being naïeve here?

This is why I love you Deepcage, always ready to spar!

I was approaching this from a generalist term, awakening for example had a market, and no end game list the patrons all communicated well and engaged in commerce without issue or interruption, same for Divine Journey when it was locked behind patron so why would I expect PO3 to be different? If anything a skyblock generally makes it much easier to gather resources so a less restrictive if any end game list is needed for a patron pack.

Patrons are by there very nature of making a monthly donation to MyM invested in the community and the current pack they are in, while I hope to someday offer more than one exclusive at a time we're lacking in the resource department for that to become a reality, there aren't enough highly sought after packs to justify spinning a second pack off right now, maybe with 1.13? You're free to publicly trade because it encourages a sense of community, at least from my point of view. I go off our basic statistical analysis of patrons versus players when it comes to the freedom provided in a patron server, even if it is something as simple as trading.

There is a dramatic difference in behavior when comparing a player to a patron, once you plop down your five euros or more it changes the way you look at the game, and the community in general. Where you see a paywall I see a stronger community. If it takes a pay wall for a community to form then I'm all for it.

To be honest, I hadn’t looked at your post till after it was published :joy: but it’s been on my todo list since the server went up, just been a tad bit busy
