Welp, you are destined to fail in life if you don't notice obvious signs, like the 2 week wipe that's broadcasted in chat quite often.

Also, your fault really for grabbing stuff off an adfly site. There's really only two mods that might be adfly'd, and one of them is Forge. The rest you can just find on curseforge these days. So, which mods had you been downloading off, say, 9mc?

 

Well, it depends from where you get your mods. Most modders use curseforge, where you mostly don't see adfly
I recommend stopmodreposts.org 's Plug-In which shows you the original creator's sites.

 

Adfly is a shortcut creation site similar to tinyurl with the difference being it forces "ads" on you before it lets you proceed to where it's supposed to redirect you. The kicker is that it only ever gives virus downloading ads yet many mod makers still use it due to getting paid for doing side. It was originally possible to bypass the virus ads entirely with adblock till they changed their site to block adblock.

 

Point out any mod here that is hosted via adfly. Mods - Projects - Minecraft CurseForge

 

But you dont see adfly, if you are finding the correct sites. Curseforge is a good example for this.
Pages like minecraftsix.com are known for viruses and reposting.

 

Just about any mod posted on the official minecraft forums is hidden behind an adfly link

 

Which is why you should use Curseforge, or just use the twitch launcher and put your own pack together. We've all lost bases from not logging in it happens.

You know what causes players to leave faster than losing a claim by not bothering to log in for two weeks or asking staff to run an absence for them? Claimed areas that don't get regenerated, or worse players who fail to claim their areas and quit leaving eye sores behind. If you're that upset you feel the need to leave then we're not going to stop you from going.

However, if you choose to stay you might consider being a little more constructive with your posts.
