When ever i pop my head into the IRC Chat to see whats going on it always seems a bit barren. Have you ever considered using something like PurpleIRC which would allow players to communicate even outside the game through the IRC channel. This even would add the potential for staff to do more detailed moderation for servers without actually launching a client to address basic issues & questions for players
