End-game items too overpriced in Monster

Well i had this alot when a mod/admin comes and players selling end/midgame-items with a price they think is too low for the item selling. they always change the prices higher to not destroy the economy.

But this is the FACT:
If they not wanna destroy the economy , don't overprice or set the value too high (like,iridium for 75-150)because that destroys also the economy no1 will buy something then of the item that selling for a big price

Iridium is easy to make but a long process because iridium is mineable in the nether and findable with laser drills so mining in nether and laser drills are mid-game (nether is dangerous and laser drills cost a bit of resources) , so i ask to the Staff to not overprice every end-game item that's part of an OP thing because some of the end-game items are easy to obtain in the mid-game if you have decent power and knowledge

NOTE:
But there are some items that must be overpriced or even can be solded of the resources or the Op things about it (like,Ichorium tools & armor)


Hope that the Staff knows what i'm saying of overpricing if any mod this thread is right , please try to set the prices high

 

dude, you shouldn't be able to BUY a SINGLE endgame item that you haven't made before if you have tell an admin or me about who sold it to you, i will or an admin will shut them down and get them (most likely) banned, and i am the king of underpricing, so it's too late to save the eco (edit) i found out paul's ruling that you can't sell iridium for less than 150 myms, for this i agree with you, iridium being worth around 10 myms per peice is the norm for last update

 

If you sell a half stack of iron(lowgame) for 10 ok but 1 iridium(endgame) for 10!? No ways! That make it possible for new players to craft a quantum suit easier then it should be!

 

iridium is NOT endgame, idc what you think and chaos agrees with me (about iridium not being endgame) on this and the rest of monster does aswell, quantum is not expensive because of the iridium, it's the OTHER stuff that makes it insanely expensive, trust me man, i got a full q-suit in the first week, by the end of the week my team of 11 were decked out in it, this is right after the reset aswell so i also have more than 13k iridium in my ae systems combined, what do i use it for other than iridium rotors quantum armor and iridium drills?

also if you consider it endgame that means it CANNOT be sold as a market listings commodity and you must have at least 1 before you can buy it, it also means that you have to privately contact someone to buy it, and thats what labeling something endgame does to it in the marketplace also for the quantumsuit the reason it's endgame is because of the laprotron crystal really

 

Regarding end-game items, chugga is correct that you can only buy something classed as endgame if you have already made it yourself at least once, and even then the sale must be conducted in private, not via the market, sale of something like ichorcloth to someone who doesn't have ichor research unlocked will be punished by a thuamcraft research reset for seller and confiscation of the sold items from the buyer without refund of mym's spent.

As for the matter of iridium, I do agree with chugga on this one, it is not on its own classed as an endgame item, since it is entirely possible to obtain a piece of iridium within a few hours of joining the server if you get lucky while mining in the nether or know how to turn the only somewhat rare indium ore from reactorcraft into iridium... I did however say that it must be sold for an appropriate price, which I would say paul your recommendation of 150/piece is a bit high, so I would say no cheaper than 50/piece as a fair compromise.

 

there's also other ores that become iridium in the extractor, platnium and silver ore do this and indium as far as i know does NOT do this

 

I am well aware of that, but an extractor setup is not something that a new player would have access to early on unless they are living with someone who is already established on the server.

By new player do you mean someone new to the mod-pack or just someone starting out? I'll normally have an extractor and full bedrock set first day, second at latest. A new player would likely only need to be made aware of their existence and decide they want one enough to have a setup ready in as long as it takes to find a stack of iron and 5 netherrack.

 

Maybe we should create some kind of list with the Item Name / Price ? That would clear it up for both sides ( staff and players).

 

maybe but it's better to let players decide, cuz if you can make more at a faster rate, you should be able to sell more for less, thats what happened in me and cypher's price wars, nether stars value plunged from 20 myms a star to 80 myms for a STACK of them

 

And you know full well that we of the MyM administration never wanted such a price war to happen in the first place, that is even clearly stated in the rules:

Frankly you're lucky that I stopped playing on monster when I did otherwise I would have probably taken various steps to further prevent/discourage that, nether stars were never supposed to be such an easy item to obtain but FTB team never bothered to balance the modpack properly leading to them being far more easy to obtain once you reach midgame than they ever should have been.

By selling the stars that cheaply you removed the need for new players to actually go to the nether themselves in the early game in order to obtain witherskulls and then fight a wither boss, thereby taking away one of the few early-to-midgame challanges of the pack.

i can usually gain a netherstar within the first hour of vanilla minecraft .-. but whatever
