First time for me making the Kami stuff. I made the awakened ichorium pickaxe and dug down to bedrock. When I go through the bedrock portal, it does a brief pause like I am teleporting to another dimenion, but after a split second of seeing new tiles (blue tiles?) I just get instantly dumped back on top of the overworld. Any idea what is going on?

Yeah this happened to me a lot when I went there, it eventually worked though and now I just use an ender porter to go back there when I need to
So, from reading the other thread... I tried going very close to origin coords, and I tried going as close to y = 0 as possible, the best I could find was y = 2. I got the same behavior. In the other other thread it doesn't say what Sir Willi did to resolve it. Maybe I can find another player online to look at my awakened pickaxe and then mark an ender porter for me.
Keep looking, their are lower places of bedrock. You are dogging to high up so you spawn into the dimension to to high and are automatically porting back.
It doesn't make a difference, from my experience no matter where you make the portal it puts them in the same location and from when I had trouble it looked like the reason was because there was a another portal directly below the one I was spawning into the dimension with. So no matter what I did I would always fall down and enter the other portal which would take me back to overworld.
I just got in. I basically tried mining while I was in there. Then I tried using a hang glider. I don't know what made me actually go in, but if you do it enough times, you'll eventually make it. The thing teleporting you back is the block your head spawns in(you spawn at Y 255). Just keep trying to do it and hope you get lucky. It took me only a few minutes.
I eventually made it, took forever, over 100 portal tries in different locations, not sure what I did differently.
