Implemented Question regarding passive MOBS .. ??

What are the exact criteria for spawning passive mobs .. ?? i have a grassy area 25 + blocks away and removed my magnum torch, yet after many many many minecraft days and nights - still nothing. Is there a bug or am i not doing this right .. ??


FYI .. i have that particular chunk set to be a plains biome.

 

dude, make sure there are no other mobs within a 3x3 chunk area and torch the place up, and you will get your spawns ;> i don't even play skyfactory 2 and i know the solution

 

Passive mobs don't spawn in an ocean biome. You need to type /is biome and select a biome to change that chunk to.

 

he changed it to a plains...

 

i have also changed to plain... but still didn't see any passive mobs yet

 

not sure for mine... i found 2 sheeps from ocean biomes which skeleton sitting on it... but not in plain

 

i took chugga_fans advice, and i finally had passive mobs spawn but wouldn't you know it - authentification services go down ..

 

how do you do that?

 

i turned off my regular mob spawner .. which was too close to where i was trying to spawn passive mobs in a grassy area.
