So yeah a lot of people are complaining about lag on the B-team servers. I have done some research on this and i found aout that mobs with hats causes a lot of lag, and i mean a lot. I went ahead and killed 3 of the mobs with hats and the tps increased by 7. Thats why I suggest removing them. @Administrator @Founder @Developer

Hats are completely useless, the only good thing about the mod is the trading gui

If it fixes lag, tough luck I'm afraid. /:

You might as well remove zombies first then. TBH I kill about 300 of them every time the tps drops, and that usually improves it 6-10 points, regardless of whether or not they're wearing hats. A lot of other mobs (all of them iirc) wear hats and as far as I know, those mobs don't have the same effect on tps that zombies do.

Frankly, I just don't think there's enough evidence to show that hats alone are the culprit.

Also, I have found the Hats GUI essential when it comes to theft-proof trades. With the amount of stealing/griefing that already occurs on this server in particularly, I'd be hesitant to do away with one more tool that can be used for good.

I do have to add though, I'm glad to see you actually profiling and looking for a solution. It will take the sum of our discoveries to figure out how to manage the lag, so doing everything towards that end is helpful. Thanks for your part. :)

Haha no need to thank me, I just call it like I see it.

The simple fact of the matter is that we can't just ban something every time it gives us trouble. Looking for the root cause of a problem is more productive than banning individual items, because eventually you could do away with most mods in the pack for some reason, and what fun would that be? Granted, some times, especially in cases of really big trees or claim stomping dinosaurs, it's just the most common sense solution.

However, I'm a firm believer of compromise, and I think that with enough diligence and information, most problems can be solved with minimal impact to everyone involved just by looking for other alternative solutions, not necessarily the first one available.

What I think the biggest lag maker is tropicraft. Today the tps of the server was 4.5. Because I was suspecting a lot of people were in the tropics Domo and I politely asked them to leave for a little bit. Some did some didn't but the fact is the tps went back on 10. After the restart it was back to 14. I have also seen people building bases in there. It's one thing when people are just walking about and exploring. Another when you have the machines and spawners and everything else going aswell. Maybe there could be a way to prevent people from building bases in other worlds and keep it to the main one?

The tropicraft world is reset from time to time, no? Perhaps make it more clear that they may loose everything if a reset is done.
That might ought to keep them from building there.

Nope, the tropic world isn't reset from time to time, because it's a build world.
    > Claims = no reset.

I agree, but I'm not the one that sorts with any of that, tell that to the Admins ;p
I don't even think that the tropics should be a build world imo.
