Done No mobs spawning at all

Greetings! Sometime on mid-afternoon (eastern standard time) on Saturday, Feb 14, both of my mob droppers/grinders completely stopped spawning mobs. Upon testing, I found that mobs don't spawn *anywhere* on my island. I did finally get a mod (AdrianVaughan) to look at my island. We scratched our heads for about 30 minutes and finally I built a huge platform out over the void about 80 blocks long to test to see if maybe it's a magnum-torch issue. We've scoured the island looking for a magnum torch and can't find one anywhere, but on that platform, we *were* able to get mobs to spawn. Aha! So it appears to be just where my spawn point is set there are no mobs spawning for some reason. We've tried hanging the biomes. I tried going to nether and back...nothing seems to cause mob spawning. And AdrianVaughan and I have looked everywhere and can't find a magnum torch. I'm therefore asking if an admin could please come to my island and see if they can see a ghost-image of a magnum torch or something. Like maybe the last time I had one placed, when I removed it somehow the block didn't get updated with the server so it's acting as if there is one there even though we can't see one. Otherwise, I don't know how to progress in the mod as without LP I'm sort of up the creek and I don't want to move all my stuff way out onto a platform away from my island.

 

There is a ticket open on this now.. Stating what has been done to solve this issue.

 

Magnum torches don't stop mobspawning from cursed earth or spawners. Don't know about autospawners though.

 

I already world edited the base for magnum torches and their were none

 

Did this occur after placing a Blood Altar? Can you try picking it up? I remember someone mentioning that a blood altar can corrupt chunk.

 

The world edit was done after the alter was placed.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Yes, I have a blood altar placed in this world, but mobs continued to spawn long after it was placed. I would sure like to know what it was that caused this corruption so I can avoid it in the future. Does anyone happen to know?
