Community building competition!

What about it?

I need a nice looking starterbase for the single player mode of Galactic science (will probably make it into the server mode too!).

Mods avaible ?

Chisel 2, Carpenters, GC, ELN, and some other stuff. If you want to build, you will get a pack with the actual mods here : http://update.mym.li/dev/launcher/MyM-Launcher_Dev.exe

Limitations?

Since the player can use most of the blocks in a decomposer to get the ressources back, we need to focus on stuff like Tyrian, Marble, Limestone.

It should be underground or at least have some kind of protection upwards because of the meteors in this pack.

1 Tree for ex nihilo and some sandblocks must be included.

I can install the basic machinery later, a second tree must be somewhere "protected" in the base for the oxygen supply.

Will my structure be used in the pack then?

All structures that reach me until 20h CET 12.05.2015 will be put up in a poll for one day here at mym. The winner gets in!

 

lol i'm "hidden" everywhere edit note that crafting table is not there by default when you join you need to make one yourself

 

I'm kind of thinking being able to choose between a few "islands" would be helpful.

It sounds like it could be fun, what about a competition for each server?

UHC regrowth building comp could be fun

Maybe limitations like only 2x2 chunks, any block but must be functional for x server?

It should fit in roughly 2x2 chunks. Its more about the number of blocks you add - so no massive block stacking. If theres a massive 40*40*10 block with Tyrian blocks you would give the player roughly 2k iron blocks, that wont be good

Winning will grant you to have your structure in this modpack and your name as the creator in some way in it. (Dont know if signs will copy their text properly on generated islands - but we will work smth. out).

 

How do we even send it to you as a .schematic or what?

I very much support this idea, it would be nice to have 2-3 different starting bases that players can choose from like the different islands on agrarian, that way the competition could have multiple winners with the top 3 voted designs put to use on release.

Is there any wiggle room on what equipment is available from the start for each base by the way, from an in-fiction perspective it seems strange that the base that you are escaping earth to doesn't have a working airlock door and a pressurised inside... obviously oxygen tanks should be a necessity for when venturing outside to gather resources etc, but it seems weird that an astronaut would be expected to sleep in a bed while wearing their spacesuit

 

*inserts lame story on how you hit the nice large oxygen tank with your rocket while landing*

 

Pfft but i like to afk a lot and my donor /god mode doesn't protect me if my oxygen tanks run out

 

Well once you get to t2 you should have stuff for a sealed base theres an airlock controller reward in minechem line also ... priorities

If you use mega i can add its to autosync with my drive with some clicks, but every storage will do. If you do adfly thoo, you will burn
