yes but it still gives you someplace to get rid of what you dont want that maybe someone else will and some sort of market however small for those that want such a thing. my problem with the market idea has always been the idea that the seller "needs" to verify the buyer and they shouldnt have to
I dont like the idea of a market. I think trading would be okay. But a Market would ruin the modpack on here.
trading is almost as good but then the problem of having to verify if the seller is violating the progrssion by selling to the buyer happens and the 'modified market' would guide it better
But someone has to make this Modified market. And also means that someone could sell the end items for a Tier which means that you could Fly through the Tiers. Missing the point of the game.
i felt i needed to quote myself due to chets last question seemed to have skipped over some and yes someone would have to make the modified market and that is staff. my job as one of the original alpha testers and now a beta tester is to make suggestions to enhance the modpack. some people had counter ideas and we bounced it around and refined it. caits last reply seemed to indicate he liked it, while chet seems to want nothing to do with it. cait is the original creator and chet was subsequintly added as a co-creator. my opinion is cait and chet need to get together and decide whats what.
I have thought quite a bit on how we could setup such a tiered market. I kinda failed. Do you have an idea that doesn't (or at least only a little) require custom development. default - Development - MyM Collaboration
As this says. A classic /market like we have on many mym servers wouldnt fit thoo since you coul just make alot of myms on t2 stuff, save it up, hit t3, buy alot of t3 stuff to instantly move on to t4 Which means you could just buy the items you need to move onto the next tier. Which means you are kinda skipping Tiers.
it would by his idea require tunneling into the code and using code from HQM, it's a closed source mod right? then that'd be a problem, as you'd have to check if the quests to progress to said tier is done, and yada yada yada
Would something totally different work? E.g. a trade station. Maybe even limiting a few resources to it. So you have to trade in order to get them.
that might work, the trade stations would have to be setup in such a way that it could be a P2P interface, in this case, chest shops might actually work
I think caith said, Just player trading was something that was wanted. But not Markets due to them being to OP in this modpack.[DOUBLEPOST=1433970489,1433970447][/DOUBLEPOST] Yes it is based on Dimensions
no, certain quests are only possible in certain tiers, (aka the tier 2 quests are only on the mars planet +)
I don't wanna go away too far from @Tecknosa idea as I feel like hijacking his thread. But what I meant is very limited. Just a bad example, on each planet there is a small market place. This market is trading dirt for 2 copper coins. On the next planet there is another market where you can buy t1, early t2 items which are a lot of work to get and maybe one of the needed resources which acquiring is boring atm, you would use the copper coins to buy/trade those... (I'm also thinking about single player here)
yhea, thats what i was thinking, aswell, and the marketplace idea, you could make it so that the items from one tier are availible only depending on what dimension you're in, though this (most likely) take alot of dev work
i love the idea of the trade stations on each planet that is way more realistic as well. well done Slind.
