Implemented ARK: Survival Evolved

Over the last few weeks I have recently started playing ark survival evolved banking up a total of 100 hours. I just wanted to have a discussion on if it was possible for MyM to open one of these server for the community?

Although this is an early access game it has been taken on and vastly accepted by the community and I feel it would be a great opportunity for MyM to branch out to another game.

Personally Im not sure on that game. Not played it probably wont either
But im Completely with the idea of having servers on other games!
I see it bringing in more members of the Community!

 

I've got some hours into the game, real good fun when you're with trusted friends.

However in public servers (or generally people you don't know and trust) its much like Reign of Kings and Rust, however you have more to lose (Dino's can be killed easily at range by other players). If we were to open a server I'd ask that we have a very strict whitelist on it. As there is no plugins that I know of, your stuff is killed and that's it, its gone, no way to find out who did it.


EDIT: Also, Stego's are amazing. Take down T-Rex's with ease because of their knockback xD

 

But that is the whole purpose of the game. You have to remember this isnt minecraft. You may as well play on a PvE server if you dont want your stuff killed/destroyed.

 

I personally love ark and I think quite a few other staff members do too but it doesn't really suit MyM with MyM being a minecraft community, while I would love to see a server for ark I don't think it would happen

Depends on the server, much like Minecraft. I've played on anything goes servers and I've played on quite large private servers where people have respect for their fellow survivor; Yes there was Pvp and raiding, but no unneeded slaughtering of Dino's that literally take hours to tame, or removing entire houses because people can be ____ <- bad words.

 

somewhat ontopic but somewhat not, as i have not played arc (i'm sure alot of people have) i have a more opinionated side, but i would much rather perfer to see a terraria server as those are generally fun for everyone involved, and it being a game much similar to minecraft that i'm sure most of the community haves it could be a fun time for the server group, js

But with its constant updates and patches it is something I would urge you to look into, is it definitely worth the money in my opinion.

 

Just checked it out. Do not think it would be very popular cause it looked like the pc specs were out of alot of peoples range. Correct me if I wrong.

 

When the game first came out only super high end pc's could play it but they are optimizing the game with every update and have recently done a update that was just optimizing which has majorly increased the amount of frames that the lower end pc's can get. Bu this game is still in early alpha so more optimization is to come

Just to note that this game is updated every week with new things, as well as new content, so everywhere there is always something new to do.
I've played Both PvE and PvP and experienced both aspects of the game, as well as achieving the highest level twice in the shortest times out there.
I currently have 203 hours of the game already, and I achieved 100 hours within a few days that the game came out.

This game has a wonderful community and it's full of wonderful people, and I know a lot of people from Ark actually play Minecraft as the public server I was playing on, there were a lot of discussions about it in chat, although I can't talk about anything server, as this public server was the main server I played on.

The game feels a bit grindy at first, and then it starts getting really fun after level 25+ because you're able to do stuff either alone or with friends a lot easier.

Although taming dinosaurs is really slow, it's really fun once you actually achieve getting something.
I made a lot of goals for myself, for example, I was one of the first people to tame a spinosaurus + get it's saddle when it was released, due to my tribe having 2 megalodons and the ability to dive deep for the expensive pearls that you need for it.

The game is a real experience, and unfortunately it does have some issues with graphics, but they're working hard on fixing these so everyone is able to run it/play it.

I played it on fully low settings for a while until they optimized it a bit and I was able to play on Medium, because I really enjoyed the game.
I would absolutely love to see an ARK server brought to MyM, especially since it opens up so many different opportunities for both the players and MyM

TL;DR - Game is amazing, buy it

 

It seems like one of those games that I would get bored if played alone

 

I'd rather get a Reign of Kings server. This game is freaking awesome.

Reign of kings has nothing on ark.
