There seems to be a rather critical bug with the gas-burning-generators from mekanism:

Once the generator is placed and picked up again (even if it has had no connection to any sort of gas before) it's unplaceable. Everytime you try to place the same generator a second time, the client seems to crash.

I know ingame it's common knowledge of "Don't use them, they're bugged", but since the forum-search didn't give any threads about this bug, I want to at least report it, in the thought that maybe the staff didn't hear about that yet.

report to mod author is mekanism is at the newest version (it likely isn't and was patched in a later version)

Ah, I thought it was a server-issue, since in singleplayer it works all normal.
Guess in that case I have to wait for regrowth to be updated and hope mekanism comes to the latest version then.

There are quite a few bugs with Mek in a server environment, it seems. Unforunately, this is one of those things where it seems we have to wait for the mod dev to correct its...shortcomings, and actually -test- the mod on a standalone, non-integrated server.

Ah yes there is. Sorry for forgetting about it.

    Here it is:

(only thing I understand is that is has something to do with the generator... which is not a surprise. I'm really bad in understanding all the informations of crash-reports ^^")

No it's a 1-block generator. I think it was connected to an advanced universal cable when I broke it (only one to see where the output was). Not sure if that's important.
Was a single, empty cable, so nothing went into or out the generator when I broke it.

after you crash if u attempt to place the generator again do you still crash[DOUBLEPOST=1437097021][/DOUBLEPOST]@MrWisski
whats happening is when u craft it it has this metadate Electricity: 0.0
after you break it it gains fueltank: (maxgasss: 18000) You can reset the tags with minetweeker with this script and it should fix it

    recipes.addShapeless(<MekanismGenerators:Generator:3> , [<MekanismGenerators:Generator:3>]);

this allows you to put the generator in a crafting grid (any) and it removes the metadata that i think is causing the crash

    Late reply but:
Yes once the generator is bugged you crash everytime you try to place it.

I tried to put a freshly-crafted generator into jabba-barrels and storage drawers, thinking I could maybe fix it this way (putting the broken generator inside to fix it) but I couldn't even put it inside. Speaks for what you wrote in your edit, that there seems to change some data once it's put down and becomes a "new data generator", that is broken.

unfortunitly if mekanism machines store invantory when broken such as gas/item crafting the generator to fix it will remove that gas or items.

Just tested it. While the recipe appears after the restart, putting the broken gas burning generator into a crafting table there seems a bug with it:

What happens (after using /mtload of course)
    - Vanilla craftingtable: The result shows up for a split-second but then the result-field of teh crafting table is empty again.
    - Tinkers' construct craftingtable: You can see the recipe normal, but you cannot pull the result out. You get it on your mouse for a splitsecond then it bounces back without being crafted.
    - Worktable of forestry same as tinkers' construct
    - Auto workbench doesn't even accept the generator in it's recipe field
    - Arcane workbench: same as Vanilla

That's all I tested. Thought I better test all I get to grab to see if one works.

    [edit]
Of course tried placing it afterwards, thinking that the tiny second it disappears when trying to take it out maybe fixed it. Sadly not.

You always need to do /mtload when you start into the regrowth-server after you started the client.

there is a mod tweaker bug which prevents you form reconnecting, so you have to restart the client every time. by loading it with a client it only gets loaded once. not perfect but less annoying than restarting the modpack all the time.
This is due to a bug with recipes being cached by mods and mod tweaker trying to overwrite them, although they are already loaded..
