Hey folks Am on DW20 node 2. I set up a simple thermalily mana producer for Botania and it seems that after an initial mana burst, it stops working (as in it produces no more mana). I've tried picking up the thermalily and replacing it but it won't produce any more mana or 'eat' any more lava. I tried it on singleplayer creative (screenshot here) and it works fine (EDIT: Well it did at first, but now it's stopped too). Has anyone come across this before or have any ideas??? Mucho thanko!
Thermalilies have a big cool-down (i think it's 6 minutes at 20 TPS, if the TPS is lower it takes even more time). When you pick them up after they absorbed a lava source they are kept in the cool-down state. If they didn't you could abuse them with a block breaker/placer machine of some sort. I think your problem is mainly impatience Btw, I made some testings of my own and thermalilies are better than hydrangeas and endoflames. Even with the cool-down time, they still produce about 4x more the hydrangeas and a bit more (don't know exactly how much exactly) against an endoflame. Another cool feature is that, unlike the hydrangeas and the endoflames (ESPECIALLY the endoflames) they don't cause as many updates on the water nor as many particles so, having a 2 stack setup of thermalilies doesn't drop your FPS to 2 when looking at them, unlike the endoflames and hydrangeas.
You are 100% correct!! I usually use endoflames with an auto drop of charcoal, but given the ease of infinite lava on the server, thought I'd branch out. Thankyou so much for the thorough explanation, it really is very much appreciated!!!! Recoil101
