So I just joined back on infinity 2 after 3 months of not playing. I noticed the low tps and tried to do an /srv restart request. Unfortunately I found out, it got removed because of abuse. I can understand that had to be done so people could actually play without a restart every 5 minutes. So I thought, "It's fine, they probably have a server restart every hour and some 'remove ground items' mod every half hour to compensate for the removal of the server restart request plugin. Nope. Every 2 hours the server restarts and that's it. Unfortunately, players are now forced to suffer the constantly low tps of 3-4 and multiple server crashes. I have also noticed a drop in the amount of players from 3 months ago. I used to see Node 2 36/36 and sometimes more (donators) But now it barely reaches 20.

Is there anyways to get a server restart every hour and a ground item removal plugin every 30 minutes going?
If not, then is there anyway to get rid of the very low tps lag? I'd be happy with 8-10 tps.

The /srv got removed because it was hiding some of the reasons servers were lagging, so no replacement, and if theres low tps create a ticket, and Sr.Mods will come help you, trust me

Actually alot can be done, if it's player's bases in extreme cases they will even have base wipes to improve tps, trust me, steps are taken if you actually report it

It would have to be a very extreme case before we would reset a base. We help the players, minimize setups an reduce lag before we would even think about that.

I think im just going to move my whole base over to Node 1, Tps is usually 8-12 there, and if it gets low i'll make a ticket. Time to make a ton of spatial pylons. :)

yhea, thats why i said extreme cases,
those won't work cross server, and will probably cause lag aswell, so..., please don't

Spatial pylons wont move your base across the nodes. It gets stored in a world file when you put it ina s patial pylon setup and that doesnt transfer over when you move nodes

How long has it been since the last Node 2 reset? I think it's been 5 months

The current issue on infinity and direwolf is that the TPS goes from 16-20 down to 1-3 after one hour uptime of the server and we can't find out what is causing this issue. All our profile tools don't show anything special.

Hello, Bloodbath1231 the command was removed because a lot of players spammed the restart at tps that didn't need fixing and when it did need fixing and someone went to fix it there would already be a restart happening that a player issued so no one was able to investigate what was wrong and what was causing the issues.

Honestly, they need to implement it back in with a way so people can't abuse it so easily. Maybe, have at least 3/4th of the server agree to the restart. When the server is like 1 tps, everyone will agree to the restart.

A possible answer to what was causing that bad tps is in your own pic, the spirit world was taking up ~80% of the overall cpu time, if people just restart it before staff have a chance to look into it then it goes undiagnosed for longer, whereas when players report it to us we have a chance of catching the cause of the drain in the act and can then try to do something about it.

I would like to comment that another issue with the /srv request command was that it was being used every time the server had a hiccup.

The decision about removing it/not adding it back was purely based on the experience we made at the time we removed it. All those issues that went unnoticed for until the point in time of the removal. Yes there had been complaints about it being used without a lot of thought but those were not part of the decision about removal.
