Most Server have it already enabled. We got it enabled on Hubris.
I am working on a Hungry Node on Ferret this time.
Sadly the mode where hungry nodes eat up items is disabled rendering them really useless. I would like it to be enabled.
It is not really a big deal.
I already asked why it is disabled in the pack and if it would break anything if it will be enabled.

    He answered: "No it wouldnt."
    Screens are included.

    hungrynodes.

Ferret is the only Thaumcraft server where this is disabled as far as I know, because we enabled it on Hubris.
I would suggest enabling this on ferret too. Because this will only help people who want to make a big node.
    There is no real downside.

    Best regards,
    knoxz

As I am really unfamiliar with Thaumcraft, I would be on the side of caution to have a node that "Eats things". I have had experience with Dark Nodes in the past and had to bedrock the node to prevent the spawning of angry wisps right over my island. I will not have one and anyone with a dark node or hungry node should have to post signs at 250 blocks from such node to inform others. BTW if other players loose inventory to hungry node, the nodes owner should be held responsible for replacement within 48 hrs.

I do not like hungry nodes because of the dangers they pose. I think they should remain disabled.

Issues with Hungry nodes have particle effects different then other nodes so the player can see so a warning sign wont really help here.

I dont see how this becomes the owners of the nodes fault, Unless its being used as a trap then this is completely find you should not walk into other peoples nodes in the first place.[DOUBLEPOST=1443393991][/DOUBLEPOST]
The Hungry node has its dangers from the great fortune that can be gained from them. That is why. Its like oh I think we should disable death because of the dangers that has?

hungry nodes dont stay as that forever... If someone claims them it is really easy to make them harmless.
After a few days they become normal nodes.
Cutting them is just removing a big part of thaumcraft. Growing a hungry node is one of the most fun and rewarding things you can do in thaumcraft.

Mobs are dangerous. Should we also disable them? You get loot from mobs if you kill them... Risk vs Reward
A hungry node is the same principle.

I've done a hungry node on crundeecraft personally I don't see why it shouldn't be set to true, they are extremely useful for any thaumaturge

Side note this is how awesome a tamed hungry node can be, and I only got it to 1000 of each base aspect.

Usually we leave the configs alone unless needed. (Yes I know we have exception)

The only benefit of this is an easier way to build large node for energizing. As their are other ways of making large nodes, I would vote to leave this feature disabled.

Yeah please activate the hard mode. Well they can kill players but wont eat the grave, so players can get some build blocks like obsidian and regain their stuff. Or they can just break them. But hungry nodes are a very good way for skilled thaumcraft people to get an awsome node, and the deactivation of those is a really hurt i think

Pretty sure you already said too much...
When someone asks you not tontalk about something, protip, don't tease other players or they will try to recreate the bug...

Another great downside with the "Disable bad Node Effects". Sinister nodes dont spawn Angry Zombies.
I am trying for 30 mins to find a Angry Zombie to get the hidden research...
It is actually breaking more things then fixing.

The default option is enblaed bad things aswell.

The default for the pack is off, and I have had no issue with finding angry zombies.

I meant the Thaumcraft default value is on.
Where did you find them? I spent like an hour fly around I the overworld and the deep dark. Not one angry one spawned :-(
Easy Mode makes it hard. ^^
