what happened?

there was a thread here before that i commented on where a guy got banned for naming his animals after mods, did someone delete it because he was lying?

It was moved to ban appeals where no one can see it. he wants to hush it up.

Does ban appeal actually do anything or do they just let it sit there 'till the ban expires naturally? Never had to use this system before.

 

It has nothing to do with "hushing things up" when someone creates a thread complaining about being banned in anywhere other than the ban appeal section (the proper place for it) it is our standard procedure to move it there so it can be dealt with properly, once moved it then becomes private between the banned person who made the thread and the staff team since there is no need for random players to be able to see it.

If you are only banned for 24h then no, more often than not it is not worth submitting an appeal because it usually takes at least that long to investigate the situation and reach a decision, but if you are banned for longer than that, or if you are completely permabanned then yes the ban appeals really do work eventually.

 

Oh, I kind of posed it in the forums for the express purpose of having it not be private. I figured people could get a laugh out of how ridiculous the situation was. Also I wanted it as a way of informing my friends on the server of why I wouldn't be on for the next 24 hours. If that doesn't belong in this section where does it belong?

 

If you do feel the need to open up to discussion with everybody about your ban, Please be prepared to have the exact reason as to why you were banned and the reasoning behind it also opened to everybody. If that is the case, please make sure to post either in the Title or the first post that it is not a ban appeal, but that you are opening it up to public debate.

if you saw what i posted, i posted the reason, the exact reason, now, it's an APPEAL for you being banned, therefore it's a BAN APPEAL, therefore it belongs in that section

 

I assumed adding a poll as to what people thought marked the post as open for debate. It was very clear the post was not a ban appeal. I literally asked other users what they thought of the situation.

The point is whether you want to read personal offence into it or not, attempting to control what a player names their animals is an insane amount of censorship unless the names contain swears or racially offensive terms, anything that would normally be banned in chat should also be banned from animal names. "Sheepotee" is is no way offensive, and Shpotee happens to be my favourite moderator. I fail to see how it's offensive. How can half the names be meant politely and half the names be meant rudely? BetaPetey is reading way more into this situation than he should be. I considered the argument with him dropped and over, and this was completely unrelated to what had happened earlier. Why should I be banned because he can't let things go?

 

As you clearly can't conduct yourself in a reasonable fashion, I'm locking this thread and giving you a warning that further behavior like this will result in your removal from the forums.

 

That sound weard.. i have made a ocelot farm and all the ocelot's is geting staff name's. this is usaly not a problem and no one have never told me i cant do that.
