Wow, that was rude. As far as portals and galacticraft, you have to consider that the portals are part of the modpack, and thus are to be used. The Author intended you to use them as such, or similarly I would imagine. Just consider how tedious it can be to fuel a rocket everytime you need it, especially on return trips in which you have no power setup on the planet you are trying to leave. A portal is less tedious, albiet a little cheaty, but none the less, most players prefer this route. tldr; Use it or don't, but there's no reason to deny others just because you don't like it. -Edit: This should probably be in the "suggestions" forum. BTW.
or maybe he's mad because there are people who are skipping all the work and getting there for nothing.... he's trying to make sure there's no progression skips, got a problem?
nah im not mad that im not on the moon xD i have no reason to go there, i could have went there in my first few hours on the server if i wanted too, i had fuel, i had rocket, i did the work to get that stuff, not cheating and using a portal to get there...
This seems like it is degrading into a personal dispute between the two of you. @brisky_boy if you have legitimate concerns, it would be best to think them through and write out a legitimate argument on why it should or shouldn't be allowed.
no it's not a dispute between me n him, i have nothing to argue with him about.. i did right out an argument on why it shouldnt be allowed... it basically lets people get up to the moon for virtually free, as enhanced portals are much easier to make than most of the GC stuff..
This was easily discarded due to this.. So unless you can think of a serious reason or are a dev willing to figure out a work around I don't think that it simply being too easy will get it removed.
The reason that you can not set home on the moon is because of galacticraft and the way it loads the planets. Not tried with the portals but i am going to asume that they load the planet differently then the /home. And for a portal to be made. You either need a code of a portal on the moon, Or you need to make a portal on the moon which would require you to get there first. Its not as much breaking the game. Its just establishing a link once you have made the trip once. As what if you made a moon base with all your stuff and lost your rocket? You would have to pretty much start again. But with the portal it allows you to get back to the moon. The portal is just an alternative method of getting back to the moon. But as stated, It requires you to have got there first.
i've been told that the moon resets anyhow when other worlds reset, the player who told me this said he was told by a staff member, kind of questioning that aswell
