I understand that, but the problem may not be the same, resulting from different things, or something gone wonky. If you remember their names, and they're still having problems they should also report this issue.
Tell them to restart their clients, I think it has something to do with online sink, but I'm not sure, whilst I play allot of the game I haven't gotten around to playing with the code yet

It's not because of your Java update. Server kicks everyone and console is frozen. Someone glitches out the access to server. We need to wait for another restart.
Is it actually letting you join johnfg12? If so it might be, but in any case it'd be wise for someone with experience to give the server a once over
Then it may be what I stated before, if any one person joins a currupted chunk wouldn't hurt everyone, sonething like the scenario I said above seems plausible, I have done it before on a challenge server I made with some friends
