Here are a few suggestions that would make Regrowth (Maybe other servers) better in my opinion. Suggestion 1 Others players and I have thought that it would be cool to link both nodes. Many of the other packs with multiple nodes has both of the nodes synced (I think). It would be amazing to go from one node to another and maybe even have 2 bases to use. Suggestion 2 Some people have thought that the end game items for the Regrowth server has been harsh. It basically states that all items that are not overworld world gen is considered end game. Maybe some ease could be put to that? For example, you can only trade items if the other person has the power, and can, obtain the item. This could help if you have to go soon, and you want to complete something, or possibly just speed up the game with items the other player needs. Suggestion 3 I, myself, asks "Why cant I get claim blocks from ontime?" It would be cool if we can get claim blocks from ontime again so we can claim most of our base. In a pack like Regrowth, when you start the game, you need tons of space to get started. This would be hard to do if you don't have many claim blocks to use, it could cause grief/theft. You may say that you could vote for claim blocks, but that just puts too much power into voting. Maybe the ontime clock per claim block could be 2 claim blocks per 5 minutes? Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I hope this all goes well into consideration. Thank you!
We Coulnd't link the 2 nodes together for 2 reasons, one they are on different machines meaning its almost impossible to link them. And two, the first node is a lot older then the 2nd and some of the players wanted to start over again on the 2nd node which they couldn't have done if the servers were linked. The endgame items list is there to prevent players getting to endgame on their first day on the server, while this is annoying to the people that are endgame or close to endgame. It increases the longevity of players time on the server and in my opinion adds a nice bit of added difficulty because you can't just trade to get endgame fast.
I have a base on node 1. I also have a base on node 2. But I'm teamed up with different people on the different nodes. So I'd rather they weren't linked, as on node 1, we're at or near endgame, and on node 2, we're just starting out. Regarding suggestion 2: It can be really hard to tell if some one can obtain an item legitimately. "I just need one iron essence!" But is that because they don't want to do the repeatable quest to make the seed, or is it because they have an odd number of essences? Regrowth is a game of patience. And on getting claimblocks... When I've just been starting out, I don't need more than one chunk. Even when expanding, it's quite easy to stick to a 3x3 chunk area. Build vertically, not just spreading out. Make use of all the space you have.
Also, claimblocks for ontime can be broken... Sorry, will be broken. I remember someone suggested this beforehand and @chugga_fan Had said something along the lines that it would be pointless to have due to /afk being a thing for T3+ ranks, no afk kick = free claimblocks= unlimited MyMs. All in all adding up to BROKEN ECONOMY! (Que thunder clap)
The decision for them being separated was made on the request of them not being connected when asked for a second node. It's age difference was a second reason, leaving no doubt of not connecting them. We need a good reason to vote and a limited access to claim blocks (many players, everyone needs some space).
I am replying as a player, not as a moderator. My opinion is my own and does not reflect the staff. As a player I would NOT like the nodes to be linked. Especially not anymore, seeing several of the parties are 50% done in the quest book on node 2 now as well. I love that the nodes aren't linked because I really wanted to start over and have finally been able to do so. Majority of players wouldn't like it if they were linked. I have a love/hate relationship with the trading rules... but seeing this pack was MEANT to be difficult and challenging, I understand how they came about these rules. Would I love for certain things to be easier? Yeah sure, but if this was meant to be easy, I would go play singleplayer. Do I agree the list of end game items needs to be more clear regarding certain things, yes... and I have messaged Booker asking if this is possible. Now the claimblocks... I don't even see an issue with this. I was able to get a 3 x 3 chunk area the first day because I had some votes saved up. Most of us actually already have a 3 x 3 chunk area. Especially if you're with a team, you can get a lot done. If you're alone, a 10 x 10 area is more than enough to get started and you'll get there within no time. Now, I understand what you mean (for instance, a once per hour MyM thing I could see being a thing) but I don't agree with it.
Re:Suggestion 1 - Sorry, I haven't been on Mym/Regrowth for a while, so i didnt know why there was a 2nd node.. Re:Suggestion 2 - I can see how the pack is ment to be challenging, but it is also a community. If you wanted to start a town, or help a friend, the rules blocks that. Re:Suggestion 3 - I like to make big areas for many things when i start. I dont like building up or down as I would just fill it in later because it looks terrible with the scenery. Also, if you get alot done in 1 day when you play, and you use your votes for claim blocks, you wouldn't have enough space. This may just be for the beginning of the game, but it is still rather annoying. Sorry for any mistakes in this post, or comment, I wrote this in 2 minutes on my Ipad =P
You do not need to protect everything. Griefing is not allowed no matter if protected or not. I would highly advice you to put the valuable stuff in the protected area, but valueless things don't necessarily need to be protected. If it gets griefed, the griefer is being found (I would say we have 98% hit rate, regarding finding the griefer) and banned.
And btw, if you're in a town you are considered teamed up in my book, so you share resources. That's normal to me. Same being in a party for the quest book.
I don't see a reason for changing the claim block system. As a non-donator you start with 100 blocks. Voting gives you currently 40 Tokens per day, which gives you another 400 blocks. (Please correct me if I am wrong, can't check that ingame right now) On day one you have 500 blocks, which is appr. 2 chunks. That is enough to start working on Regrowth. For a 3x3 Chunk area you need about 2500 blocks, which you can get in 6 days. You also dont need tickets for chunk loaders in the first day or two. If you are a donator and use a chunk loader from the start (by using iron from the resource kit) you also have additional claim blocks. Most players should have enough claim blocks after a week to set up a base big enough to do everything they need. If you are in a team, you get there even faster. Every vote after that supports your chunk loader or makes your base larger.
