As someone whom lives in America I want to say happy thanksgiving to our friends in Europe as well as Canada, the UK and the other counties of the world. I hope you guys enjoy the feast put on by your loved ones and make sure to send thanks to family whom couldn't make it. For the people who are still in school I hope you enjoy your thanksgiving break in a food coma :)

    Happy Thanksgiving :)

True and saddening. Many of the 5 tribes that are part of my ancestry suffered. But as many of the People say, that is in the past. Remember it, learn from it and grow stronger. It is ironic now that many people who have long lived in my State are now descended from several tribes. That is where we get our stubbornness and our willingness to help others. Long live the People. I believe the initial idea of Thanksgiving was based upon the Fall's sharing of food by the Natives with the pilgrims although today people believe the opposite. Without the assistance of the People, the Pilgrims would have all died as many colonies did in other areas. But for many Thanksgiving is not really to celebrate a past (as depicted) but to be thankful for all that we have today. It is a time of gathering with family and good friends and feasting and enjoying one another and hope for an even better future. And with that in mind I say "Happy Thanksgiving", may your future be bright and you have many more Thanksgivings.

Demonic, I feel your pain at this educational betrayal, and I as a hereditary member of the Cherokee, who suffered the trail of tears, need to say that it is unfortunate that our children are taught the fairytale of Plymouth Rock, and not the true events, but perhaps... just perhaps, our children in primary grades are not mentally prepared enough to understand the full concept of what happened? I suppose that as our kids get older they learn the true facts of a lot of things that they were taught and that they learn how to separate the fact from the fiction.
    That said...Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Sorry for the late post, but this is something that you generally should listen to at noon on thanksgiving day, it's a story about a thanksgiving day party....

The song just states "History repeats itself"

I like to know history, the title of the song tells the time period.

Well, you can tell because there's a draft(last draft was from the Vietnam war), and it was made during 1967, describing an actual event, at an ACTUAL restaurant (which the maker of the song owned, it's called Alice's Restaurant)

Its an interesting story.50 Years Ago: Arlo Guthrie's Arrest Inspires Thanksgiving Classic 'Alice's Restaurant'

And yes, the title kinda gives away what the story is about
